She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 714

When those words fell, Wesley's face drained of color. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He immediately tried to intervene. "Mr. Jameson, don't listen to her! She's out of her mind with hatred. You absolutely cannot act on impulse right now!"

The soft halo of light in the room cast shadows across Rowan's face, making his expression completely unreadable.

Outside the door, Zara eavesdropped from the corner, her heart hammering in her chest. A thin layer of sweat had broken out on her forehead, and her palms were completely damp. She was so engrossed in the conversation—thinking surely her boss wouldn't actually go through with it—that she entirely failed to notice the footsteps approaching from behind.

In the next second, a massive, powerful hand grabbed the back of her collar, yanking her hard. A bright, masculine voice rang out behind her. "Well, well, who do we have here? Since you're already at the door, why don't you come inside for a chat?"

Zara jumped out of her skin. She whipped her head around to find a towering, unfamiliar man. "W-who are you..."

Julian Shaw didn't bother answering. With a slight tug, he dragged her by the collar straight into the VIP room. "You guys know her?" he asked.

Wesley looked stunned when he saw Zara get hauled inside. "Zara? What are you doing here? Mr. Shaw, she's an employee of the Jameson Group."

Julian released his grip on her collar, letting Zara stumble and regain her footing. His gaze casually swept over the mortified woman as he offered a half-smile. "I stepped out to the restroom for two seconds, and when I came back, she was creeping outside the door with her ear to the wall. I figured she was just another guest with a crush on Rowan."

At his words, everyone in the room—except Rowan—turned to stare directly at Zara.

Zara's face burned with intense humiliation. She never imagined anyone in Rowan's social circle would be so blunt and utterly ruthless. She frantically raised her eyes, trying to sneak a peek at Rowan's reaction through her peripheral vision.

Rowan acted as if he hadn't heard a word. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wesley, escort Miss Tate out."

"Right away," Wesley replied immediately. He turned to the side and gestured toward the door. "Right this way, Miss Tate."
