The HR Manager placed a transfer notice on Zara's desk, informing her to pack up her belongings immediately and report to the administrative department at the suburban industrial park.
Zara gripped the paper, unable to hide the disappointment in her eyes. "Why am I suddenly being transferred?" she asked quietly.
The HR Manager barely looked up, his tone strictly professional. "There's no special reason. It's just a routine corporate rotation, and your salary will remain the same. It's not just you. The other two female secretaries in the executive office are also being relocated to branch offices and back-end departments. If you have a problem with this arrangement, you can speak up now."
Zara gently shook her head, forcing down her sense of grievance. "I'll follow the company's orders; I don't have any complaints. I just want to know... is this because Mrs. Jameson feels threatened by me?"
She had noticed Mrs. Jameson giving her a few extra glances that day.
The manager actually laughed at that. "Why on earth would she feel threatened by you?"
"You've seen Mrs. Jameson yourself. She's infinitely more beautiful than you, and she's incredibly capable. When Mr. Jameson was in the hospital, she stepped in to help handle his workload. I heard even Colin praised her sharp eye for numbers."
"Zara, stop letting your imagination run wild. The more you overthink, the more likely you are to create ridiculous delusions. Some things in life are just determined from birth."
Zara's face flushed deep red. Dropping her gaze, she stepped out. "I'll go pack my desk."
...
A week later, Zara was running errands when she passed by Seaborne City's most exclusive private club. From a distance, she spotted Wesley escorting a stunning, elegantly dressed woman in a white sundress through the grand entrance.
Zara's stomach immediately tightened as she began to speculate.
It was the middle of the workday. Wesley bringing a strange woman into a private club was undeniably suspicious.
Could Mr. Jameson be inside?
The public always raved about how deeply Mr. and Mrs. Jameson loved each other and how perfect their marriage was.
But the scene unfolding before her filled her with doubt.

The readers' comments on the novel: She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
