His words dropped like a bombshell over the dining table.
Jasmine, who had been feigning composure just moments before, clenched her fists as her confident facade shattered.
Vivienne marveled inwardly at Jasmine's sheer audacity, fabricating a marriage in front of the entire Jameson family just to secure her status.
Caspian paled. "Rowan, we wanted to get our license back home, but you're too much of a control freak... No wonder even Lyra can't stand you."
Rowan frowned deeply. "Worry about yourself, or you might end up losing your life to a woman."
With a few taps on his phone, he sent a video to Alistair, Charles, Victoria, and Vivienne.
They tapped open the file in confusion. The footage clearly showed the sports car parked on the street next to Lyra, the passenger side suddenly erupting in flames. The destruction was terrifying, and the entire vehicle was quickly engulfed in fire. If Rowan hadn't grabbed Lyra in time, she would have opened that passenger door.
"This was Jasmine's little gift to Lyra. It looked like a present, but inside was a modified high-pressure incendiary explosive," Rowan said, his dark gaze locking onto Jasmine. "It seems your professor grandmother, Agnes, is quite skilled. She used her background in chemical engineering to dismantle and modify parts under the radar. If Lyra had been holding that box instead of leaving it in the car, the blast would have permanently disfigured her."
Hearing this, Maisie instinctively clamped a hand over her mouth, gasping in horror.
Vivienne's pupils contracted as she drew a sharp breath, looking at Jasmine's rigid expression in utter disbelief.
Caspian stiffened entirely. He turned to Jasmine, his voice trembling with disbelief. "Is this true? You actually tried to kill Lyra?"
Jasmine's face cycled through shades of sickly pale. She pressed her lips together and let out a cold laugh, her tone laced with reckless hostility. "We're even. You're hardly a saint yourself."
Victoria stared at Jasmine in pure shock. She had always held onto the memory of Jasmine taking a bullet for Rowan, and had pitied her for losing her ability to have children in the car crash. But in this moment, all her sympathy curdled into a chilling dread. Her lips trembled. "Jasmine, how... how could you do such a thing?"

The readers' comments on the novel: She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
