She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 679

The holiday night was warm, and the Jameson Residence was brightly lit. Festive Holiday Lanterns hung proudly at the entrance of the sprawling estate, and the massive round table was overflowing with the New Year's Eve Dinner.

Vivienne's family was also there. Maisie played with Pip for a while before the meal started.

Lyra took her seat next to Rowan, her gaze involuntarily drifting across the table to where Caspian sat alone.

After such a long time apart, Caspian carried an air of distant detachment. His expression was quiet, having returned entirely alone with no date by his side.

Lyra silently planned to casually ask him about his recent life during the dinner conversation.

The staff began bringing out the final dishes, including the main holiday course. Grandpa Alistair smiled warmly. "Let's dig in, everyone."

"Hold on, Alistair... we're still waiting for someone," Victoria said awkwardly, just as everyone was picking up their silverware.

Pip had already grabbed his special little spoon. Hearing his grandmother say that, a shiny line of drool escaped the corner of his mouth.

Just then, the soft sound of footsteps echoed from the foyer. The butler stepped forward and announced quietly, "Jasmine is here."

Lyra's heart lurched, a sudden chill rushing through her body.

She hadn't expected that Caspian and Jasmine were still together.

Jasmine walked in beaming, wearing a pristine white coat and a vibrant red scarf.

Lyra instinctively glanced over, shooting a quick look at Rowan's face. He was looking in Jasmine's direction, but his expression was completely blank.

Noticing Lyra's gaze, Rowan gave his wife a reassuring smile. He leaned in, reaching behind the high chair to gently rub her back in a comforting gesture.

"Caspian and Jasmine already got married overseas."

Victoria looked at her eldest son and explained, "Caspian just confessed everything to me. I only just found out myself."

Everyone stared in stunned silence. No one had expected such an extreme reaction from Lyra.

Jasmine was Rowan's ex-girlfriend, and now she was joining the family. Vivienne figured it was completely normal for Lyra to be upset about the new family dynamic.

Pip's food had gone flying, but he still gripped the empty spoon tightly. He looked up with pitiful eyes and mumbled, "Baby hungry... hungry..."

Grandpa Alistair quickly intervened, "Let's just eat. Don't let the baby go hungry."

"We're full," Lyra stated flatly.

Pip was so shocked that his chubby fingers dropped the spoon. Usually, whenever he said he was hungry, his mother would give him all the best treats. Today, he hadn't even taken a single bite, and his mother was saying he was full.

"Baby not full... full..." Pip patted his round tummy anxiously. He looked down and realized that even though he was starving, his belly still looked completely round. That must be why his mommy thought he was full.

His hunger briefly forgotten, Pip spread his stubby little fingers and pressed down hard on his own stomach. No matter how hard he pushed, his belly just bounced right back into its round shape. He grew even more determined, keeping his head down and stubbornly fighting with his own tummy in the most adorable way possible.
