She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 680

Jasmine naturally noticed the toddler's actions.

The corners of her lips curled up slightly.

Lyra's son was adorable, but unfortunately, he wasn't hers. She could never have children for the rest of her life! Even her right to be a mother had been stripped away.

A cold, venomous darkness leaked into Jasmine's gaze.

Charles, experienced and sharp, instantly caught that hostile glare. His brow furrowed deeply, his displeasure evident.

Lyra also caught Jasmine's icy stare. Refusing to stay a second longer, she reached out and pulled Pip securely from his high chair and into her arms.

"Lyra, what are you doing?" Victoria stood up, clearly disapproving.

"I'm leaving," Lyra said.

"Lyra." Caspian hastily stood up, trying to step in and stop her.

Victoria and the nearby staff moved forward to try and talk her down, but Lyra turned sideways to avoid them. Holding Pip, she quickly walked out of the Jameson Residence.

Rowan grabbed his cashmere coat and sprinted after her. Once outside, he reached out for the baby. "Let me hold him."

"No need." Lyra didn't break her stride, practically jogging toward the car parked in the courtyard.

Pip rested softly against her shoulder, quietly leaning on his mother while still daydreaming about the food at Grandma's house...

Rowan matched her pace, following her right up to the car. "I know you hate them, but is it really worth skipping dinner over? The baby is starving."

"Didn't you say you dreamed of everything?" Lyra whipped around, absolute fury raging in her eyes. "How did I die in my past life? Your brother slowly poisoned me to death! Why didn't you dream about that?"

Rowan's face drained of color. A nightmare that had tortured him countless times flashed uncontrollably through his mind—a cramped, freezing rental apartment where Lyra curled up alone on a broken-down bed. She had been nothing but skin and bones, completely drained of life, entirely devoid of her former vibrant self.

"The Fairchild bloodline ends with you."

"You couldn't save the twins."

A predatory, violent storm brewed in Rowan's eyes. They had been there to deliver the fatal blow to his wife. He turned on his heel and marched back into the Jameson Residence.

"Rowan, did Lyra really just leave?" Maisie had assumed Rowan would talk her into coming back. She hadn't expected Lyra to actually walk out on a night like this.

Jasmine smiled warmly, looking up at Rowan. "Rowan, does Lyra not like me?"

Victoria's chest heaved with anger. "She's making a massive fuss over nothing! Walking out right in front of Grandpa Alistair is completely unacceptable behavior."

Grandpa Alistair waved his hand dismissively. "Lyra is usually a very gentle and sensible girl. She would never lose her temper without reason. This is definitely your fault."

Rowan tossed his coat over the back of his chair and sat down, his gaze locking onto Jasmine. "Let's lay all our cards on the table, shall we? Did you know that Caspian was the one behind your multiple car accidents?"
