She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 651

"Alright," Rowan chuckled, gently brushing her cheek.

He couldn't help but recall the horrifying scene he had witnessed when he pushed that door open in their past life.

Back then, her complexion had been deathly pale as she slowly closed her dry eyes. The burning hatred in her gaze had gradually extinguished into nothing, without a single tear falling. Yet, in this life, she would cry from the discomfort of a simple stabilizing injection. Perhaps she had already shed all her tears, exhausting every ounce of her vulnerability and sorrow in the endless torment of her previous existence.

A suffocating wave of agony gripped his heart, threatening to swallow him whole. He leaned over, taking her face in his hands, and captured her lips in a deep, undeniable kiss.

Lyra froze for a second before shoving him away, breathless.

She touched her swollen lips, shooting him an exasperated look. "Are you out of your mind?"

Rowan wrapped his arms around her shoulders, leaned in close, and whispered three simple words against her ear.

After over a month of strict bed rest to stabilize her pregnancy, Lyra suddenly went into labor.

In the early hours of the morning, she was wheeled out of the delivery room, completely drained of strength. All she could do was watch helplessly as the medical team hurried down the corridor toward the NICU, carrying her tiny baby in a sealed transport incubator.

The doctor's soothing words echoed in her ears. "The baby's vital signs are looking strong. Please try not to worry, Mr. and Mrs. Jameson."

The tension she had carried for so long finally snapped. Compounded by the absolute exhaustion of childbirth, Lyra's eyelids grew too heavy to keep open. Within moments, she sank into her pillows and fell into a deep sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, bright daylight was streaming through the window. It was already the following morning. Rowan and Delilah were keeping vigil on either side of her bed.

The second Lyra regained her senses, her first words were rushed and hoarse. "Where is the baby? How is Pip?"

Rowan immediately leaned in, gently covering her hand with his. "He is doing just fine. There is a dedicated medical team watching him around the clock in the NICU, and I have stationed our people outside. You just need to relax and focus on your recovery."

Delilah smiled and nodded in agreement, softly comforting her daughter, urging her not to stress over the newborn. Getting her own strength back was the top priority right now.

[When I lost him in my past life, it hurt so much. It hurt until everything turned to ash, until I couldn't hold on anymore. Why do I have to suffer the agony of losing him all over again in this life...]

He had never dared to listen to it before, deliberately ignoring this exact recording.

But right now, watching the tiny infant breathing steadily in the incubator, he finally had the courage to hit play. He listened to it on an endless loop.

You are finally safe, Pip.

His eyes quickly grew hot, rimmed with red.

Rowan had never experienced an emotion like this in his entire life.

It was an overwhelming surge of pure ecstasy, mixed with the profound relief of a heart that could finally stop free-falling.
