She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 646

Seeing Rowan collapse onto the cold hospital floor had broken Victoria's heart.

But to her, this entire disaster was just karma coming full circle. There was no need to hunt Caspian to the ends of the earth.

"Don't destroy him, Rowan. Please."

Standing nearby, Wesley took the opportunity to speak up. "Mr. Jameson, on the drive to the clinic, Caspian was actively coaching Lyra through her breathing to suppress the contractions. He was genuinely panicking. He kept repeating that he was a monster..."

Victoria immediately seized the lifeline. "Do you hear that, Rowan? He really regrets it. Lyra is a gentle soul, and they used to be so close. Even after what he did, I know she wouldn't want you to destroy him over this."

Rowan's expression remained carved from stone. He asked coldly, "And then what? What happens the day he decides to stroll back into this house with Jasmine on his arm? How exactly is my wife supposed to handle that?"

"That will never happen! They have no right to show their faces here ever again. I will never allow either of them back into this family," Victoria pleaded. "Rowan, just look at the fact that he stopped himself. Let him go."

The ice in Rowan's eyes didn't thaw. "Fine. I won't hunt Caspian down right now. But Jasmine's family is still in Seaborne City. I assume you have no objections to how I handle them?"

"Well..." Victoria hesitated. "What does her family have to do with this?"

Rowan's voice was deathly calm. "If they raised a daughter capable of such vicious manipulation, then they will pay the price for their failure as parents."

Victoria opened her mouth to argue, but the words died on her tongue. Caspian had almost murdered her unborn grandson because of Jasmine's lies. She couldn't defend them. She offered a defeated nod. "Do what you must. They brought this upon themselves."

Just then, Rowan's phone buzzed. It was a high-priority call from Jameson Group HQ.

He stepped out onto the terrace to answer it.

"Boss, we caught someone."

A corporation as massive as the Jameson Group operated on a state-of-the-art risk management system. Any attempt to screenshot secure files, transfer internal data to external drives, or send them over personal messaging apps triggered an immediate lockdown and system alert.

Someone had tried to photograph classified documents, but before the files could be transmitted, the cybersecurity mainframe flagged the anomaly.

Rowan listened to the report, his voice completely devoid of emotion. "Package the employee and the digital footprint. Hand it all over to the legal department. Don't bother me with this again."

"Are you not coming into the office?" Director Chandler asked, bewildered. It was a massive breach, and the CEO's absence was highly unusual.

"Handle it yourselves," Rowan replied. "I need to get back to the hospital."

The movement woke Lyra. She stared at the ceiling, silent tears slipping down her cheeks.

Rowan sat beside her, whispering soft reassurances.

Being entirely bedridden felt like being locked in a cage. The sheer boredom and lingering trauma left Lyra spiraling into sudden bouts of depression, crying until her face was blotchy.

It didn't take long for the news to reach her family. Delilah and Caleb hurried to the hospital to visit her.

Caleb's face was dark with fury and heartache as he looked at his sister. "Your family is a walking disaster, Rowan. My sister nearly lost her life dealing with your mess."

"I am deeply sorry," Rowan said, his tone heavy with genuine remorse. "I swear to you, I will never let anyone hurt her again."

Caleb was completely caught off guard. Rowan Jameson, the ruthless, untouchable corporate titan, was actively lowering his head in apology. The bulk of Caleb's anger deflated. He patted Rowan's shoulder gruffly, cast one last worried look at Lyra, and left to attend to a business emergency.

When Kayla arrived to visit later, it sparked a sudden memory in Rowan's mind. Wesley had recently briefed him on Waylon Grayson sniffing around Kayla.

After her family left, Rowan stepped out into the hall and made a call. "Put eyes on Kayla Harrington and Waylon Grayson."
