She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 632

The person who had pushed Jasmine off the balcony wasn't Lyra—it was Waylon. When Rowan uploaded the security footage to the internet, he graciously decided to blur out Waylon's face as a basic courtesy.

With a little artificial algorithmic push, the video went viral instantly.

But even so, the scandal barely left a scratch on Waylon.

To clear his name, Waylon had secretly paid off one of his subordinates, Evan Croft, who shared a striking physical resemblance to him. Waylon meticulously fabricated evidence to pin the entire crime on the fall guy, publicly claiming that the subordinate had acted completely on his own. In one swift move, Waylon completely washed his hands of the mess.

Although many guests had been present at the birthday banquet, no one was eager to stick their neck out and testify against Waylon.

However, since the video proved that Lyra was nowhere near the scene, all the malicious rumors surrounding her completely dissolved.

The next day, Madeline and Sabrina Vance rushed over to Blackwood Manor. "I wish I hadn't gone on vacation," Madeline complained. She had been out of town during the birthday banquet and had no idea the drama would be so explosive.

Sabrina took a sip of her tea. "Why is Waylon such a psycho? He always looked so put-together. Weren't he and Jasmine getting along perfectly fine? Why would he suddenly try to kill her?"

"Who knows," Lyra said, genuinely baffled by the whole situation herself.

Sabrina quickly grabbed Lyra's hand, her expression serious. "Lyra, you absolutely cannot meet with Waylon alone ever again. These young guys have completely twisted minds. It's way too dangerous."

Madeline scoffed lightly at the warning. "Waylon is dangerous? Are you trying to tell me Rowan isn't dangerous? If you really break it down, Rowan is the most cunning and lethal player in this entire circle. Lyra just accidentally stumbled onto a pirate ship."

Hearing that made Lyra frown. A heavy knot of discomfort formed in her chest, as if marrying Rowan meant she was doomed to an inescapable fate.

Sabrina muttered under her breath, "Come to think of it, Lucas is far away in another city right now. He actually seems like the safest and most stable one of the bunch."

While the women were enjoying their pastries and chatting, Rowan walked in. He had finished his work early and come back to Blackwood Manor.

Stepping into the living room, his eyes immediately locked onto Lyra before shifting to the Vance sisters. He gave them a polite nod. "We have guests today. It's been a while."

Sabrina nodded respectfully. "It has been a while, Mr. Jameson."

Rowan acknowledged her with a slight nod before walking over to Lyra. He bent down and affectionately ruffled her hair—a gesture that looked entirely natural and deeply intimate—before heading upstairs to his office.

Sabrina instantly broke into a massive, starstruck grin. Resting her face in her hands, she stared with sheer envy. "Gorgeous people are just so easy on the eyes. Even their casual everyday interactions look like a scene from a movie!"
