She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 583

The car glided to a smooth stop outside the Fairchild estate. Rowan pulled out his phone, his expression dark as he dialed a number. "Colin, what kind of garbage establishment are you running? My wife ate there and..."

Lyra clamped her hand over his mouth.

On the other end of the line, Colin Holt scrambled to apologize. "Mr. Jameson, I swear our reputation is spotless. How could something like this happen?" He paused, suddenly processing the rest of the sentence. "Wait... Mr. Jameson, did you say wife? You got married?"

Rowan lightly licked the warm palm pressed against his lips. As Lyra snatched her hand back in horror, he let out a low chuckle and simply hummed an acknowledgment.

"Well damn, Mr. Jameson, you kept that quiet! I'll have to send a proper gift your way. As for the restaurant, I'll dispatch a team right now. We'll shut it down or gut the kitchen, whatever you want."

Rowan studied her intensely for a long moment. "Did you really... get rid of him?"

Lyra froze for a second, then gave a tiny, almost imperceptible nod.

Selfishly, she wanted Pip to belong solely to her.

She had absolutely no intention of letting him know their child was still alive.

"Everything looks wonderful," Dr. Gable said, handing her the printed report with a reassuring smile. "The baby is developing perfectly. The cold water didn't do any harm, so you can stop worrying."

Hearing those words lifted the crushing weight off Lyra's chest, and a rare, genuine smile touched her lips.

Relieved and elated, she asked a barrage of questions about pregnancy diets and daily routines.

Dr. Gable prescribed her Folic acid, a standard prenatal necessity, along with some Vitamin B6 to help manage her nausea.

Lyra packed away the prescriptions, thanked the doctor profusely, slipped her sunglasses back on, and left the consultation room.

Out in the corridor, Victoria Jameson was sitting on a bench waiting for her own health supplements. She happened to glance up and instantly recognized Lyra. Despite the heavy disguise, the young woman's figure and distinctive features were unmistakable. Victoria froze in surprise, her eyes darting to the plaque on the door Lyra had just exited. She stood up and walked over. "Excuse me, the young woman who just left..."
