She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 555

Caspian had pulled off something massive before getting on the plane.

A car had violently slammed into Jasmine. The immense impact crushed her lower abdomen and pelvis. Following emergency treatment, the doctors delivered the grim news: her pelvic organs had suffered severe trauma, and her ovaries and uterus had sustained irreversible damage. They had to perform an emergency surgery to remove the severely damaged ovaries. From this day forward, she would never be able to conceive.

After Victoria put Caspian on his flight, she heard about Jasmine's accident and immediately brought people to Seaborne General Hospital, securing the absolute best doctors for the Ford family.

With her at the hospital, the Ford family felt as though they had been given a shot of adrenaline. Jasmine had taken a bullet for Rowan, and now Victoria was treating her so well, even if the doctors declared Jasmine infertile. Medical technology was so advanced these days, there had to be other options...

"Can we postpone the wedding?" Tabitha was deeply worried that, given her current state, they couldn't possibly make it in time.

Victoria, totally unaware of Jasmine's infertility, nodded in agreement. "Her health comes first. We'll leave the wedding plans up to Jasmine."

Leaving the hospital, Victoria walked outside and angrily phoned her accountant. "Aside from his tuition, cut off all of Caspian's living expenses immediately."

After ending that call, she tried calling Rowan again, but couldn't get through no matter how many times she dialed.

In the operating room, tears streamed silently down Lyra's face. The way she cried was so pitiful it made anyone's heart ache.

Dr. Gable softened her voice and tried to comfort her. "If you haven't fully made up your mind, you can still go discuss it thoroughly with your family."

Lyra shook her head. Her voice was broken and raspy, thick with sobs. "No need. I made up my mind before I came."

As she lay on the operating table, her tears never stopped falling, splashing drop by drop onto the sterile drapes.

Dr. Gable handed over the sedative and said gently, "Close your eyes. Just take a nap, and it will all be over."

This type of request—lying about a patient's actual condition—crossed the ethical line of medical practice. Normally, Dr. Gable would have rejected it outright.

But looking at her desolate figure and the undeniable agony in her eyes, she stayed silent for a moment before nodding slowly. "Don't worry. I'll give them a vague answer."

"Thank you." Lyra didn't understand why this doctor was being so accommodating. Once she left the hospital, her head still spun slightly. She didn't know how long she walked, but her body grew heavier and heavier. Too exhausted to go on, she squatted by the side of the road to rest.

An Audi pulled up. Jayden stepped out, looking at the pale woman, and smiled. "I seem to have a habit of catching you out on the street."

Lyra's tear-filled eyes were blurry, her consciousness slipping. Mistaking him for the family member she missed the most, she suddenly stood up, ran over with arms outstretched, and tightly hugged the man's waist. She whispered, her voice thick with congestion, "Dad..."

Not far away, Sabrina happened to witness Lyra getting into the Audi. She instantly tailed them in her car, following them all the way to a quiet residential complex.
