She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 460

For Jasmine, hearing the phrase "together this long" completely broke her. A dull, agonizing ache split her chest wide open.

Unable to hold back any longer, she closed the distance, throwing her arms around Rowan's waist and burying her face against his broad, muscular chest. The clean, masculine scent radiating off him, mixed with the cool dampness of his skin, made her knees go utterly weak.

"Rowan, she gave you to me."

"Tonight, you're mine."

...

Fortunately, one of the four elevators was already sitting idle on the top floor. Lyra slipped inside, thanking her lucky stars.

The moment the doors pinged open on the ground floor, she sprinted to the front desk and asked for the item Jasmine had left for her.

The receptionist handed her a box.

Without wasting a second to check the contents, Lyra hugged the box tightly to her chest and bolted for the hotel's rear parking lot.

To her shock, Andrea hadn't left yet. She was leaning against the company car, casually smoking a cigarette.

"Andrea? You... you haven't clocked out yet?"

It was well past her shift.

Lyra vaguely noted that she had never seen Andrea smoke before.

Andrea stubbed out the cigarette. "Why are you down here alone? Where's Mr. Jameson?"

"I..."

Andrea's gaze sharpened, cutting right through her. "What did you do?"

Lyra forced a tight smile. "Nothing."

"What's in the box?"

"Oh... Rowan gave it to me."

Andrea had indeed seen a box of a similar size back at Blackwood Manor, but she was certain Rowan hadn't brought it with him tonight.

Did it just materialize out of thin air?

Or were there other bodyguards working inside?

What else could make the infamously cold, calculating Mr. Jameson run like a madman?

The building was perfectly still.

Andrea watched Rowan bolt toward his SUV. The windows had already been rolled down via his key fob. In one fluid, terrifyingly athletic motion, he vaulted through the open window directly into the driver's seat.

Andrea called out his name, but he didn't even seem to register her existence.

What she did register, however, was the raw, murderous fury burning in his eyes—a look so violent it made her blood run cold.

The SUV's engine roared to life as he threw it into reverse and peeled out of the lot. Staring after the rapidly disappearing taillights, Andrea couldn't help but wonder what catastrophic mess Lyra had just created.

But this was bad. Driving in a blind rage was practically a death sentence!

Lyra hadn't even made it halfway home when the rear of her car suffered a violent, flawlessly calculated impact. The entire vehicle lost control, spinning a sickening one hundred and eighty degrees across the asphalt.

Lyra was brutally slammed against her seat, her head spinning as black spots danced across her vision. Blinking through the haze, she realized the vehicle that had rammed her was Rowan's SUV. Trembling uncontrollably, she clawed for her phone. "Call... call the police... someone's driving drunk."

A second later, the driver's side window was completely shattered. A massive hand reached inside, grabbing her by the collar and violently dragging her out of the vehicle and onto the pavement. Her shoulder slammed against the hard ground, sending an agonizing spike of pain tearing through her bones. In an instant, Lyra's entire arm went completely numb, as if it had been ripped from its socket.
