The very next day, Jasmine marched straight into Jameson Entertainment to find Josie Somerset.
This was the talent agency Josie was signed to.
Jasmine's face was a mask of pure ice. Josie had barely stepped out of her car and hadn't even grasped the situation when Jasmine closed in on her. Her sharp gaze swept over the actress as she spat, "You did this, didn't you?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Josie replied, bewildered.
"You're young, yet you refuse to learn some decency. You just had to go after another woman's man. Have you absolutely no shame?"
Josie had known about Jasmine for a long time. Haters were always swarming her social media, leaving nasty comments about her being inappropriately close to Rowan. She had always ignored the gossip, never bothering to defend herself.
She hadn't responded.
Jasmine hadn't responded, either.
They both knew of each other's existence, but they had never actually crossed paths.
She just hadn't expected Jasmine to show up out of the blue, looking so furious.
Josie drawled slowly, "I really don't understand what you're saying, Jasmine. Mind spelling it out for me?"
Jasmine shot a freezing glare at Josie's assistant. "Tell her to leave."
Josie turned to her assistant. "Give us a minute."
The assistant hesitated, clearly worried, since they were out in the open and paparazzi were always lurking. "Please hurry up, Josie."
Once the assistant was out of earshot, the two women were left alone in a tense standoff. Jasmine dropped all pretense of her usual polished grace. She pulled out her phone, shoved the paused video right in Josie's face, and glared at her with barely contained fury. "Did you send this?"
Every time Jasmine looked at that video, her eyes burned. Anger shot straight to her head, and a violent rage churned in her chest. She wanted nothing more than to slap the starlet right across the face, body-slam her to the ground, and pray she ended up in a coma just like Lyra had.
Josie instinctively leaned in to get a better look, but Jasmine snatched the phone back immediately. Even from that fleeting glance, Josie clearly recognized Mr. Jameson in the video. A chilling sensation instantly washed over her.
Someone had filmed Rowan in bed?
Was it Lyra?
Was Lyra the one sleeping with him?
She had seen Josie at that beach motel.
The sheer panic cooled the raging fire in Jasmine's chest. "What do you know? He liked me way before that happened. We always had feelings for each other."
Josie scoffed. "Then why did he wait so long to pursue you? Why did he only start treating you well after you supposedly saved him?"
Jasmine's face turned a sickly shade of pale. Josie tried to sidestep her and leave, but Jasmine blocked her path.
The tension spiked to a breaking point.
It looked like they were about to have a full-blown screaming match right there in public.
The assistant quickly ran back over. "Jasmine, whatever people are saying online is just garbage. Josie and Mr. Jameson are just friends. Please don't listen to those internet rumors..."
The young assistant simply assumed Jasmine was throwing a fit over some online gossip.
Jasmine just stared at Josie in dead silence, her expression turning terrifyingly cold.
