Battle and Sacrifices-3
Lora closed her eyes and concentrated, drawing on every last reserve of strength she had left. She felt the familiar connection between them, the bond that allowed them to heal, to share their energy. But this time, it wasn’t healing she sought, it was power. The Omega Fury surged within her, and she called on it, the red haze swirling back to life around her. She could feel the pain, the anguish, and the heartbreak she had buried deep within her soul. All of it came flooding to the surface in one final, desperate push.
“Tara, are you with me?” she called to her wolf, her voice trembling in her mind.
“Always,” Tara growled, fierce and unwavering. “We fight together, Lora. For Markus. For all of them.”
With a deep breath, Lora let go of everything, releasing the Omega Fury in a massive blast that spread out like a wave across the battlefield. The red haze surged from her body, engulfing the remaining lycans. Azriel held her tightly, lending his strength, his support, as the deadly power
radiated from her like a storm.
Rome, who had been moments away from overpowering Markus, staggered as the red haze reached him. His eyes widened in shock and confusion, the black veins of the Omega Fury quickly spreading across his body. He snarled, but his movements became sluggish, his strength faltering as the deadly poison took hold. She turned in anger, but when he saw Azriel holding in his arms his
mate, who was glowing a red haze, everything hit him like a brick.
“No!!!” he screamed in desperation. He overlooked what was right under his nose! Luna Storm was
causing this destruction! But how?! These were his last thoughts before he succumbed to the deadly haze in an agonizing death.
Lora felt the world slipping away, her vision dimming as the strain became too much. But she didn’t care. She had done it. She had given everything she had. “At least… I gave it all. Everyone is safe!” she thought, her last conscious thought before the darkness claimed her.
Her body went limp in Azriel’s arms.
“Lora!” Azriel’s voice was filled with panic as he felt her collapse. He caught her just before she hit the ground, cradling her limp form in his arms. “No… Lora, stay with me!” His heart pounded in his chest, fear gripping him like a vice. He shook her gently, his voice breaking. “Please, Lora… please, don’t leave me!”
But Lora didn’t respond. Her body lay still, her face pale, as if all the life had drained out of her. Azriel’s breath came in ragged gasps, tears welling in his eyes as he held her close, his mind racing with disbelief. He pressed his forehead against hers, whispering her name over and over again, praying for her to come back to him.

O
Battle and Sacrifices 3
Behind them, the battlefield fell eerily silent. The once mighty lycan army had been reduced to ruins, their bodies littering the ground, covered in the telltale black veins of Omega’s Fury.
Rome, too, had fallen. The once unstoppable leader lay crumpled at Markus’s feet, his body twisted and mangled, his veins blackened by the same deadly force that had taken down his
soldiers.
Markus, panting and bloodied, looked around the battlefield in shock. He spotted Azriel, kneeling with Lora in his arms, and his heart sank. “Lora…”
The coalition of werewolves and vampires, battered but still standing, looked on in stunned
silence. The battle was over, but the cost had been unimaginable.
Azriel held Lora tighter, his tears falling freely now as he whispered desperately to her. “Please…
come back to me. I need you. We all need you.” But she remained still, her body unresponsive in his
arms.
The love of his life, the warrior who had fought so fiercely to protect them all, had given everything.
And Azriel, heartbroken and desperate, feared that it might have been too much.
