Battle and Sacrifices-2

“Lora,” he whispered, his voice thick with emotion. “What have you done? You…. you did all of this?”

His eyes scanned the battlefield, the fallen lycans, the carnage she had caused. It was her Fury, her Omega Fury, that had turned the tide of the battle.

Lora nodded weakly, her tears spilling over. “I had to… Azriel. I had to protect you. All of you.” Her voice cracked, and she buried her face in his chest. **”I couldn’t let them win.”**

Azriel’s throat tightened, and he pressed a kiss to her forehead, his arms tightening around her. You’re so strong, my love. But this… this power. It’s too much. You’re hurting yourself.”

Lora shook her head, her voice barely a whisper. “I don’t care… as long as you’re safe. As long as

they’re safe.”

Thunder’s voice echoed in his mind, in a panicked tone. “Azriel… she can’t keep this up. The strain,

it’s killing her.”

Azriel’s eyes filled with anguish as he looked down at Lora, her body trembling in his arms. He could see the toll it had taken on her, the paleness of her skin, the exhaustion etched into every line of her face. She had given everything to save them.

“Enough, Lora,” he whispered, his voice cracking. “You’ve done enough. Let go of the Fury. Please.”

But Lora shook her head, her tears mixing with the blood on her cheeks. “No… I can’t. Not yet. There are still more of them. I have to keep going.”

Azriel cupped her face in his hands, forcing her to look at him. “You don’t have to do this alone. We’re here. I’m here. We’ll fight together. But you have to stop, Lora. You have to stop before it kills

you. Please, I am begging you!”

For a long moment, Lora stared into his eyes, her heart aching with love and despair. She wanted to keep fighting, to protect them all. But the truth was, she was at her limit. She was breaking. Tara,

in the depths of her mind, urged her to listen, to trust.

Finally, with a sob, Lora closed her eyes and was ready to let go, until she spotted Markus and

Layzal engaged in a brutal fight with no one but Rome, the lycan leader and her tormentor.

Markus and Layzal were extraordinary fighters, warriors with unmatched skill. But Rome was no

ordinary opponent. The lycan leader’s raw power, his savage fury, gave him the upper hand.

Markus was holding his own, while Layzal tried to deliver fast attacks, but Lora could see the strain

in both their movements, the way Rome’s attacks pushed them back with relentless force.

Lora’s breath hitched in her throat as panic clawed at her. “No… no, no, no.” Markus couldn’t fall, not

here, not now. Not after everything.

She looked desperately at Azriel, her body weak, but her spirit refusing to give up. “Hold me tight,” she said, her voice barely a whisper but laced with determination. “Like we do when we heal. Markus needs us… needs me.”

Azriel’s

eyes widened in shock. He was torn between wanting to protect her and understanding her need to help. “Lora, you’re too weak. You’ve already given too much,” he pleaded, his voice thick with emotion. He glanced around at the battlefield, the chaos still swirling around them. Please, don’t push yourself anymore.”

But Lora shook her head, her gaze locking with his. “I’m doing this, with or without you,” she said) her voice unwavering despite her exhaustion. “Markus needs me. Layzal needs me! Our people need me. I have to do this.”

Azriel looked at her, his heart breaking, but he knew there was no stopping her. Lora was a force of nature when she set her mind on something. With a pained expression, he nodded and pulled her close, holding her tightly in his arms. “I’m with you,” he whispered, pressing his forehead to hers, a

promise in his voice. “We’ll do this together.”
