Little Hope-2
Lora, who had been staring at the ceiling lost in thought, turned to face him. Her eyes were still red from the emotional turmoil of the night, but there was a clarity in them now. “You’re right, my love,” she whispered, her voice steady. “I actually I lost my sister when she betrayed me years ago, not
now.”
Azriel reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. “It’s okay to feel conflicted, but don’t let it consume you. We have to keep moving forward.”
Lora nodded, her hand finding his under the covers. “I know. It’s just… I think I’ve been grieving her loss for a long time, long before tonight. She was family, my twin, we shared the same womb. How someone could do this to their own flesh and blood is beyond my comprehension.”
Azriel leaned in, kissing her forehead tenderly. “And now, we let go of the past.”
With that shared understanding, they finally allowed themselves to rest. Exhaustion claimed them both quickly, their bodies and minds worn out from the emotional rollercoaster of the night. They drifted into a deep sleep, holding each other close, finding comfort in each other’s presence.

The next day was a blur of activity. From the moment they woke, Azriel and Lora were each engulfed in their respective duties. Azriel spent the day in meetings, strategizing, planning, and catching up on the mountain of work that had accumulated during his absence. Lora, too, found herself buried in her tasks, managing the pack’s affairs with efficiency and determination, plus rounds in the hospital. The intensity of the day helped them both push aside the lingering thoughts of the previous night, their focus solely on the present and the future of their pack.
But as the day wore on, fatigue began to set in, the weight of their responsibilities pulling at them. Just when they thought the day would end without any significant progress, Azriel’s phone rang, breaking the monotony of paperwork. He glanced at the screen and saw Markus’s name flash
across it.
Azriel exchanged a glance with Lora, who had just entered his office to check on him. “It’s Markus,” he said, answering the call with a flicker of curiosity.
“Azriel,” Markus greeted him, his voice carrying an undertone of excitement. “Is Lora with you?”
“Yes, she’s here,” Azriel replied, putting the phone on speaker.
Lora’s eyebrows knitted in concern. “What’s happened, Markus?”
There was a brief pause on the other end, as if Markus was gathering his thoughts. “At least we

have a faint hope. We’ve managed to narrow down and locate the orphanage from Kaia’s premonition.”
For a moment, the room was silent as Azriel and Lora processed the news. It was as if a jolt of energy shot through them both, replacing the exhaustion that had weighed them down all day.
“That’s incredible!” Azriel exclaimed, his voice reflecting the surprise and relief he felt. “Where is it?”
Markus’s voice was steady as he replied, “It’s in a remote region, tucked away from the main roads, just like Kaia described, hosted in an old nun’s coven. We’re organizing a team to go there now. I wanted to inform you both immediately.”
Lora’s eyes sparkled with renewed hope. “This could be the breakthrough we’ve been waiting for.”
Azriel nodded, his mind already racing with the implications. “Absolutely. We need to act fast, but carefully. We don’t know what we might be walking into.”
Markus agreed. “We’re being cautious. We’ll have eyes on the area first before making any moves, especially with the damn Lycans searching the same people as us.”
“Good,” Azriel replied. “Keep us updated on any developments. This could change everything. And let us know if you need anything.”
“Will do,” Markus said, the determination in his voice evident. “I’ll contact you as soon as we have
more information.”
“Thank you, Markus,” Lora added, her voice filled with gratitude.
“Talk soon,” Markus said before the call ended.
As the line went dead, Azriel and Lora exchanged a look, the weight of the moment settling over
them.
“This is it,” Lora whispered, her voice filled with a mixture of hope and trepidation.
Azriel took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “We’re getting closer. Whatever comes next, we face it together. I just really hope that we will find the surviving bloodline before the Lycans can find them.”
“True, but let’s not forget something. They are not obliged to fight this battle, this war. I just really hope that Markus will be able to convince them,” she added.
“Let’s hope that they will agree … otherwise… we will face a bloodbath,” Azriel added with a deep
frown on his face.
