Late Night Calls-1
Azriel stepped into the cold, damp cell, his presence commanding and imposing. The figure sitting
on the bench looked up sharply, his eyes narrowing as they locked onto Azriel’s. It was Councilor
Stone, the man who had once been a trusted advisor, now reduced to a prisoner, stripped of his
power and status.
But despite his dire circumstances, Stone’s demeanor was far from humble. Instead of cowering or begging for mercy, he sneered at Azriel, his lips curling into a cruel, mocking grin.
“So, the mighty Alpha has finally come to gloat,” Stone spat, his voice dripping with venom. He stood up, his movements still confident, as if he was in control despite the chains that bound him. “You think you’ve won, don’t you, just because you are friend with the King? But you’re a fool, Azriel. A blind fool! You have no idea who you’re dealing with.”
Azriel remained silent, his expression unreadable, his eyes cold as ice. He simply stared at Stone, letting the man’s words echo in the small, confined space.
Stone’s confidence seemed to grow with Azriel’s silence, mistaking it for fear or hesitation. “You think locking me up here will solve anything? Do you have any idea how important I am? I have friends in high places – powerful friends, along with a powerful family and bloodline. They won’t just sit by and let this happen. They’ll come for me, Azriel. And when they do, they’ll bring hell down on your pack.”
His voice rose with each word, the desperation in his threats barely concealed beneath his bravado. He took a step closer, chains rattling with the movement. “Do you hear me? You can’t keep me here! I’m untouchable! You have no idea what kind of forces you’re up against!”
Azriel’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained composed, the storm of emotions within him hidden behind a mask of calm. He could see the desperation in Stone’s eyes, the fear that lay beneath the surface. The man was grasping at straws, clinging to the last vestiges of his power, but it was clear that he was cornered. Azriel’s silence only seemed to infuriate Stone further.
“Speak, damn you!” Stone snarled, his face twisting with rage. “Do you think you’re safe here? Do you think your pack is safe? You’re nothing without the backing of the Council! Nothing! And I swear, when I get out of here, I’ll—”
“Enough,” Azriel’s voice cut through the air like a blade, sharp and cold. The single word silenced Stone instantly, the authority in Azriel’s tone leaving no room for argument. Azriel took a step forward, his presence suddenly overwhelming, the air in the cell thickening with the weight of his
power.
“After everything you’ve done,” Azriel began, his voice low but seething with barely contained fury,

“the destruction and chaos you’ve caused, you truly expect to just walk out of here? To go back to your life as if nothing happened?” He shook his head slowly, a dark, almost pitying look in his eyes. “Think again.”
Stone’s defiant expression faltered slightly, but he quickly masked it with another sneer. “You can’t do this to me,” he hissed, though there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice now. “I’m more important than you can imagine! You have no idea the kind of power I wield-”
“Power?” Azriel interrupted, his voice rising with anger. “You speak of power as if it can excuse the blood on your hands. My mother, my father, countless pack members – they’re dead because of you. You orchestrated the slaughter of innocents, all for your twisted ambitions. You killed my mate, my unborn pup!” His voice cracked with the raw pain of those memories, his eyes blazing with the intensity of his emotions.
For a moment, the cell was filled with a suffocating silence, the weight of Azriel’s words hanging heavily in the air. Stone swallowed hard, his bravado slipping as the reality of his situation began to
sink in.
Azriel took another step forward, his eyes locked onto Stone’s, filled with an unyielding determination. “You will pay for what you’ve done,” he said, his voice deadly calm, the promise of retribution clear in his tone. “There is no escape for you. No one is coming to save you. Your so-called friends will turn their backs on you, just as you betrayed those who trusted you. And I will make sure that every moment of your life from now on is filled with the same pain and suffering you’ve inflicted on others. Death is too easy for someone like you. I became Deathstrike because of you and I will make sure to show you why … personally.”
