Prisoner-3

Charn

Her gaze locked onto Lora, and for a moment, she seemed frozen in place, her expression one of disbelief. “Elora?” she whispered, as if seeing a ghost.

Lora remained silent, her face impassive, her emotions carefully controlled.

Alena’s voice trembled as she spoke again, louder this time. “Elora, is that you? But how…?”

Lora’s eyes narrowed slightly, her voice cold and ironic as she responded, “I am very much alive, …sister.”

Alena’s shock deepened, and she seemed to shrink in on herself, her posture becoming pitiful and pleading. “You must help me, sister. Please, have mercy on me,” she begged, her voice dripping

with desperation.

But Lora simply laughed, the sound harsh and unyielding. “Drop the act, Alena. No one’s buying it.”

The shift in Lora’s tone seemed to snap something in Alena. Her pitiful demeanor vanished in an instant, replaced by a cruel grin. She straightened, her eyes gleaming with malice as she stepped closer to the bars of her cell.

“Hmm,” Alena purred, her voice full of mockery. “Finally, my little sister learned some tricks. Too bad it didn’t help you all those years ago. Look at you now, standing there like you’ve won

something.”

Lora’s expression remained calm, but there was a fire in her eyes as she met her sister’s gaze. “I’m not the weak, frightened girl you remember, Alena. I’ve grown, and I’m not here to play your games. You’ve hurt too many people, and you will answer for what you’ve done.”

Alena’s grin widened, but there was a flash of something darker in her eyes, fear, perhaps. “Oh, Elora, always so righteous. Do you really think you can stop what’s coming? The Lycans, the disease, the chaos, they’re all inevitable. You’re just delaying the inevitable.”

Azriel, who had been silent until now, stepped forward, his voice a low, dangerous growl. “You underestimate us, Alena. We’ve already saved your victims, and we’ll stop whatever plans you and your masters have.”

Alena’s eyes flicked to Azriel, and she sneered. “The great Deathstrike, standing by my sister’s side. How quaint. But you should know better than anyone, … Azriel, sometimes the ones you think are closest to you are the ones who will betray you the most.”

Azriel’s expression darkened, but he didn’t rise to her bait. Instead, he placed a comforting hand on Lora’s shoulder, grounding her in the moment.

Layzal, who had been observing the exchange with a neutral expression, finally spoke up. “Enough of this. Alena, you will tell us everything you know about the Lycans’ plans, or I will make sure you suffer for every life you’ve destroyed.”

Alena chuckled darkly, leaning against the cold stone wall of her cell. “You think you can scare me, vampire? I’ve seen things that would make your blood run cold. I have nothing to lose.”

Lora stepped closer to the bars of the cell, her voice low and steady. “You may think you have nothing to lose, Alena, but you’re wrong. We will find out the truth, with or without your help. And when we do, you will pay for your crimes. You can either help us stop the Lycans now and maybe find a shred of redemption, or you can rot in this cell until they decide you’re no longer useful to

them.”

Alena’s gaze met Lora’s, a silent battle of wills taking place between the two sisters. For a moment, it seemed as though Alena might relent, but then she shook her head, a bitter smile on her lips. “You still don’t understand, do you? This isn’t just about power. This is about survival. And the Lycans, for all their brutality, know how to survive. I chose the winning side, Elora. You’re the one who’s lost. Also, it is about revenge. Did you really believe that I could be discarded by Alex, or our pack or Markus without consequences? Think again!” she shouted as she started to laugh.
