Prisoner-2

Layzal, who had been watching from the doorway, stepped forward, his expression a mix of relief and gratitude. “You’ve done it. You’ve saved them. My gratitude is immense, Luna Lora, Alpha Azriel. The coven owes you a great debt.”

Lora nodded weakly, too exhausted to respond with words. Azriel, sensing her fatigue, stepped in. “We’re glad we could help, but we need rest. We’d appreciate a room where we can recover. We’ll discuss the rest later.”

Layzal inclined his head in agreement. “Of course. You have more than earned it. I will have a room, prepared for you immediately. Please, follow me.”

They followed Layzal out of the clinic, the weight of exhaustion pressing down on them. As they walked through the winding corridors of the coven, Lora leaned into Azriel’s side, her body aching with the toll of the day’s events. She was grateful for his support, for the way he always knew when to step in and take care of her.

Finally, they reached a set of heavy wooden doors, which Layzal opened to reveal a spacious room

with a large, comfortable bed.

Layzal bowed again as he gestured for them to enter. “Rest well. If you need anything, just call. I

will send you something to eat to your room.”

“Thank you,” Azriel replied, guiding Lora into the room. “We’ll see you later.”

As the doors closed behind them, Azriel led Lora to the bed, helping her sit down. He knelt in front

of her, taking her hands in his, his gaze full of concern. “You did amazing, Lora. But you need to rest

now.”

Lora nodded, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. “I just… I just need to lie down for a bit. And the

babies are quite agitated,” she said as she caressed her pregnant belly.

Azriel helped her onto the bed, pulling the blankets up around her. He brushed a strand of hair

away from her face, his touch gentle. “I’ll be right here, love. Just rest.”

As Lora’s eyes fluttered closed, Azriel sat beside her, watching over her as she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, after a much-needed rest, Lora and Azriel awoke feeling more refreshed and ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. The events of the previous day still weighed heavily on their minds, but there was a renewed determination in their hearts. After dressing and sharing a quiet breakfast, they headed out to meet with Layzal, who was waiting for them in one of the coven’s grand halls.

Layzal greeted them with a nod, his expression serious. “Good morning. I trust you both rested, well?”

Azriel returned the nod. “We did. Thank you for your hospitality.”

Layzal’s gaze shifted to Lora, his crimson eyes studying her intently. “There is still much to be done. If you’re ready, I would like to take you to see the prisoner. She’s proven difficult to deal with.” Lora exchanged a glance with Azriel, who nodded. “We are ready,” she said firmly.

As they began walking through the coven’s dimly lit corridors, Azriel turned to Layzal. “How has the interrogation been going?”

Layzal’s expression darkened with frustration. “Not well. We can’t get close enough to her to extract any useful information without risking further infection. She’s been uncooperative, to say the least.”

Lora, her mind focused on what lay ahead, looked at Layzal. “Let’s see what we can do. Maybe we’ll have better luck.”

They continued walking in silence until they reached the lower levels of the coven, where the dungeons were located. The air grew colder, the stone walls damp with moisture. The sound of dripping water echoed through the narrow corridors, adding to the oppressive atmosphere.

Finally, they stopped in front of a heavy iron door. Layzal motioned for the guards to open it, and they did so with a loud creak. Beyond the door was a small, dimly lit cell. Inside, pacing back and forth like a caged animal, was Alena.

She was disheveled, her clothes torn and dirty, her once-beautiful face twisted with anger and frustration. She was screaming at the guards, her voice grating on their ears. But as soon as Azriel, Layzal, and Lora stepped into the room, Alena stopped mid-sentence, her eyes widening in shock.
