A Glimpse of Hope-3

A Glimpse of Hope-3

“Kaia, you’ve done more than enough,” Markus said gently, kneeling beside her. “Rest now. We’ll

take it from here.”

Kaia nodded, though her eyes still held a glimmer of worry. “Just find them, Markus. That little girl…

she’s important. I can feel it.”

“We will,” Markus promised, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I won’t let anything happen to

her. Now, get some rest. We need you strong.”

As Kaia lay back, closing her eyes, Markus stood up, his mind already racing with plans. The situation was growing more complex by the hour, but he knew one thing for certain: they had to find that girl, and they had to do it fast.

As the royal helicopter soared above the treetops, cutting through the early morning mist, Lora and Azriel sat side by side in the plush cabin, the hum of the rotors a steady backdrop to the turmoil in their hearts. The interior of the helicopter was dimly lit, offering a sense of privacy and intimacy during the chaos that swirled outside.

Azriel, ever attuned to Lora’s emotions, gently pulled her into his arms. His strong embrace was a haven of warmth and security, but he could feel the tension in her body, the silent storm brewing within her. He asked her, his voice soft and full of concern. “Are you okay, my love?”

Lora’s eyes glistened with unshed tears as she shook her head, her voice trembling with uncertainty. “I don’t know, Azriel. To see her again after all these years… I don’t know what I feel. Anger? Sorrow? Maybe both. She was my sister, but also my executioner.”

Azriel tightened his embrace, pulling her closer to his chest. He stroked her hair gently, offering comfort with every touch. “You don’t need to let her get into your head, Lora. This is your choice, whether you want to see her or not, speak to her or just ignore her. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Right now, you and Asher are the most important things to me. Nothing and no one else matters.”

He leaned down, pressing a tender kiss on her forehead, then to her lips, hoping to ease the pain he knew she was carrying. The connection between them was strong, but even that couldn’t completely shield her from the turmoil of facing her past.

Lora closed her eyes as she rested her head against his chest, the steady beat of his heart grounding her. “I just never imagined this,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the helicopter. “I thought she was lost to me forever, and now… now she’s involved in something so

dark, so dangerous.”

Azriel held her tighter, his own thoughts heavy. He could understand her turmoil, could even feel it echoing within himself. His past was filled with its own darkness, and it took all his strength to stay focused on the mission ahead. In the dungeon back at his pack’s stronghold, Councilman Stone was locked away, awaiting his punishment for the unspeakable crime of orchestrating the death of Azriel’s parents. The need for vengeance simmered beneath the surface, a constant presence in his mind. But for now, he had to set aside those personal feelings, that burning need for justice, and focus on what needed to be done for the greater good.

He brushed his lips against her temple, his voice a low murmur. “We’ll get through this together, Lora. Whatever happens, we’ll face it side by side. You’re not alone in this, and you never will be.

Lora sighed softly, letting the comfort of his words sink in. “Thank you, Azriel. I don’t know what d

do without you.”

“You won’t ever have to find out,” he replied, his tone firm with conviction. “We’ll deal with this, and then we’ll go home to Asher. We have a future to protect, and that’s what we’ll focus on.”
