History Lesson-2

Azriel’s jaw tightened as Layzal spoke. “What happened to them?”

Layzal’s gaze turned distant, as if he were reliving a memory he wished he could forget. “From what I remember from the stories, the bloodline was hunted down, relentlessly pursued by those who sought their power. Eventually, they disappeared, going into hiding to escape the constant persecution, while many of them got killed when they refused to obey. Over the centuries, many believed they had been wiped out, their knowledge lost forever. And till today I believed the same.”

Markus exchanged a glance with Azriel, both of them understanding the implications of this revelation. “If these poems still exist, and the bloodline still lives, we need to find them before the Lycans do,” Markus said, his voice resolute. “They could be our only hope.”

Layzal nodded in agreement. “Indeed. But be warned, Markus, if the Lycans are aware of the Dispell Poems, they will stop at nothing to completely destroy that bloodline. You must tread carefully.”

“There’s one more thing,” Kaia interjected, her voice hesitant. “In my vision, I saw who was spreading the pandemic infections. It’s not just random… it’s being orchestrated by someone

specific.”

Layzal raised an eyebrow, his interest piqued. “Who?”

Kaia took a deep breath, her gaze flicking at Lora. “It’s Alena… the Black Forest’s former Luna. She’s been using some kind of powder, infecting everyone she comes into contact with. She is preying on young single men, luring them with her beauty.”

Layzal’s voice cut through the tension. “This complicates things. If this Alena is spreading the pandemic, she could be part of the Lycans’ plan to weaken the werewolf population before they strike. You must act quickly, Markus. The clock is ticking. We will keep an eye on our territory and distribute her pictures. We will let you know if we succeed in capturing her before you do.”

Markus straightened, his resolve hardening. “In the meantime, we will try to find the bloodline, secure the Dispell Poems, and put an end to this pandemic. And we’ll stop the Lycans, no matter

the cost.”

Layzal’s image flickered on the screen as he nodded. “Good. I will assist you where I can. But

remember, Markus, time is not on your side. Move swiftly, and remember that if you are after them,

so are the Lycans. I still can’t believe that there are still survivors of that bloodline.”

The screen went dark, leaving the room in a heavy silence.

Markus turned to Kaia, his expression filled with both gratitude and determination. “Thank you,

Kaia. We’re one step closer because of you.”

Kaia gave him a small, tired smile. “We’ll get through this, Markus. Together.”

Azriel, ever the pragmatist, nodded. “We have a lead. Now we need to act on it. I’ll begin searching for any records of this bloodline, and I’ll start with the archives.”

Markus nodded in agreement. “Do it. And I’ll summon Aura, the witch. Maybe she can help us

locate them faster.”

As the room began to clear, Markus turned to Kaia, his expression softening. “You’ve done enough for today, my love. Rest now. We’ll need your strength for what’s to come.”

Kaia nodded, feeling the weight of exhaustion finally settle on her shoulders. But as she left the

1 room, she couldn’t shake the feeling that they were racing against time, and that the future of their

entire kind depended on the choices they made in the coming days.

The days that followed Kaia’s vision were fraught with tension and frustration. Markus, Azriel, and

the rest of their inner circle were working tirelessly to uncover any information about the Dispell

Poems and the bloodline that held their power. However, despite scouring ancient records,

consulting with witches, and reaching out to various supernatural contacts, they found little that

could help them.

Markus, usually so confident and resolute, began to feel the weight of uncertainty pressing down

on him. Every day that passed without answers felt like a step closer to the disaster Kaia had seen

in her vision. The thought of their kind being enslaved by the Lycans was eroding him from inside,

keeping him awake at night. The urgency of their mission was clear, but without a lead, they were

grasping at straws.

Kaia, too, was feeling the pressure. Her abilities, so vital to their cause, had become a

double-edged sword. She was willing to do whatever it took to help, but the pregnancy was taking a toll on her. She was constantly fatigued, suffering from nausea that left her drained. Despite

Lora’s best efforts to support her, there was only so much that could be done. Lora herself was dealing with her own pregnancy, making it difficult for her to provide the level of assistance that

Kaia needed.

By the third day of their search, the entire group was exhausted. Their faces were drawn, their eyes shadowed with fatigue and lack of sleep.

That morning, as they gathered once again in the war room, the air was thick with frustration and worry. The

maps and ancient texts spread out before them seemed to offer no answers, only more

questions. Markus was about to call for a break, to give everyone some time to rest, when Kaia suddenly stood up.

“Enough,” she said, her voice firm despite the exhaustion that was evident in her pale face. “I’ll try to have another vision.”

Markus immediately shook his head, a look of concern crossing his face. “Kaia, no. You’re already under too much pressure, and you’re not feeling well. This pregnancy is hard on you, and I can’t ask you to do more.”

Kaia met his gaze with determination. “Markus, we’re running out of time. I need to do this. The visions have guided us this far, and they might be our only chance at finding the Dispell Poems. can’t just sit back and do nothing. We don’t have time! Each day that is passing is bringing us closer to the disaster, and trust me, you have no idea how terrifying future I saw.”

Lora, who had been quietly observing from the corner of the room, stepped forward. “Kaia, you’re pushing yourself too hard. We both are. But if you’re sure this is what you want to do, then I’ll

support you.”

Kaia gave her a grateful smile. “Thank you, Lora. But I need something to strengthen the connection and maybe direct my vision. Bring me some of Alpha Carter’s personal items,

something he kept close, like his mobile phone or his personal jewelry.”

Markus looked conflicted, torn between his protective instincts and the knowledge that they needed answers. Finally, he nodded. “All right. I’ll have someone bring those items right away. But Kaia, promise me that if this becomes too much, you’ll stop.”

“I promise,” Kaia said, though Markus could see the resolve in her eyes. She wasn’t going to back

down.
