History Lesson-1
After Kaia’s vision had unveiled the terrifying future that awaited them, Markus and Azriel knew they needed to act swiftly. With the threat of the Lycans looming larger than ever, they decided to call Prince Layzal, the Vampire Prince. His vast knowledge and long life span might hold the key to finding out more about the mysterious Dispell Poems that Kaia had seen in her vision.
The war room was once again filled with a tense silence as Markus and Kaia prepared for the conference call. Azriel stood nearby, his arms crossed over his chest, deep in thought, while Lora sat silently, still processing the devastating news about her sister, Alena.
Markus initiated the call, and within moments, the screen flickered to life. Layzal’s sharp features appeared, his pale skin contrasting with the deep red of his eyes. He looked regal as always, but
there was an edge to his expression, as if he too sensed the gravity of the situation.
“Markus,” Layzal greeted, his voice smooth but carrying an undercurrent of concern. “What news do you have that requires such urgency?”
“Thank you for joining us, Layzal,” Markus replied, his tone respectful but firm. “We’ve uncovered
something that could potentially shift the balance in this war. Kaia had a vision, one that revealed
some critical information we believe you need to hear.”
Layzal’s eyes shifted to Kaia, who nodded in acknowledgment before recounting her vision. She described the horrifying future where the Lycans reigned supreme, their ruthless domination of werewolves and humans alike. But when she mentioned the Dispell Poems, Layzal’s expression
grew somber, his eyes narrowing as if trying to recall a distant memory.
Markus noticed the change in Layzal’s demeanor and leaned forward slightly. “Layzal, have you ever heard of the Dispell Poems?”
Layzal was silent for a moment, his gaze distant as if he were sifting through centuries of
memories. Finally, he spoke, his voice tinged with a deep solemnity. “That is a word I have not heard in hundreds of years. I thought it was lost to time, nothing more than a forgotten legend.”
“What do you know about it? Is it the first time we have heard about this,” Azriel asked, his voice filled with the same urgency that Markus felt.
Layzal’s expression grew even more serious as he began to recount the legend. “There is a tale, one that has been passed down through the ages, though many dismissed it as mere folklore. It is said that long ago, the Moon Goddess herself was caught in a great battle with another god. During this conflict, she was trapped in a mortal body on Earth, her powers severely drained, rendering her almost human.”

History Lesson-1
Kaia’s eyes widened in awe as she listened, the room hanging on Layzal’s every word.
“The Goddess,” Layzal continued, “was found by members of a small, humble pack of werewolves.
They did not know who she was, only that she was a woman in need. They showed her
compassion, took her in, and nursed her back to health, never once asking for anything in return. The Goddess was profoundly moved by their kindness and purity of heart. To show her gratitude, she bestowed upon this family of wolves a special gift, something that could protect them and
their descendants from any supernatural threat. She taught them songs, powerful incantations
that could only be used by that particular bloodline. These songs were known as the Dispell
Poems.”
“Songs that can destroy any supernatural being,” Markus murmured, the weight of Layzal’s words settling heavily on him. “This could be the key we’ve been searching for in defeating the Lycans.”
“Yes, in theory,” Layzal replied, his tone grave. “But as with many gifts from the gods, this one came
with a price. Word of these powerful songs eventually spread, and as is often the case, greed and
fear took hold. Leaders from various supernatural factions, werewolves, vampires, even witches,
sought to control this bloodline, to use the Dispell Poems for their own purposes and gain. They kidnapped Luna from the pack, tortured her, and forced the Alpha to wield these poems in
conflicts he wanted no part of.”
