Visions and Poems-2

Kaia nodded, though the worry didn’t entirely leave her eyes. “Alright, I’ll rest. But promise me you’ll gét some sleep too. You can’t keep running on empty like this.”

Markus smiled faintly, leaning in to press a kiss on her forehead. “I promise. I’ll be right here with

you.”

He lay down beside her, pulling her close, feeling the tension in his body slowly begin to ease as he breathed in her familiar scent. Despite the storm raging outside their door, at that moment, with Kaia by his side, Markus allowed himself to find a moment of peace.

The next day dawned with a sense of urgency hanging in the air. The werewolf community was in turmoil, the shocking events of the previous day spreading like wildfire. Inside the castle, the atmosphere was tense as Markus, Azriel, and the rest of the inner circle pored over every piece of information they could gather. The stakes were higher than ever, and they knew the Lycans were planning something catastrophic.

Kaia arrived at the war room, her expression determined despite feeling a bit tired. As she entered, Markus looked up, relief and concern flickering in his eyes. He immediately stood, gesturing for the

others to give them some space.

“Everyone, please,” Markus said, his voice firm but respectful. “Give us a moment.”

The Council members and advisors exchanged glances but obeyed, filing out of the room until only Markus, Kaia, Anton, and Lora remained. The door closed behind them, sealing them in a

bubble of tense silence.

Markus turned to Kaia, his voice gentle but serious. “Are you sure you want to do this, my love?”

Kaia nodded, but before she could speak, Lora stepped forward, her gaze steady. “Yes, Markus, I

already examined Kaia to make sure that she was OK before trying this again. We need to see

what Kaia can find in her visions. It’s the only way we can get a glimpse of what’s coming and

protect our kind.”

Markus hesitated, the protective part of him wanting to shield Kaia from the strain of her abilities.

But he knew they didn’t have a choice. The future of their pack, and perhaps all werewolves, depended on the insights Kaia could provide.

Kaia took a deep breath and walked over to the table where the maps were spread out, showing the territories, the suspected locations of the Lycans, and the known safe zones. She closed her

eyes, her hand hovering above the map as she focused all her energy on channeling a vision.

For several long minutes, the room was silent, everyone holding their breath as they watched Kaia.

Then, suddenly, her body tensed, and flashes of images flooded her mind. The peace that had initially surrounded her was shattered by violent, chaotic scenes: wolves enslaved, humans treated worse than animals, and the Lycans reigning supreme in a world of suffering and despair.

When the vision finally subsided, Kaia’s eyes flew open, and tears streamed down her face. She gasped, as if struggling to breathe under the weight of what she had seen. Markus was at her side in an instant, pulling her into his arms as she trembled.

Azriel’s voice broke the silence, filled with concern. “Kaia, what did you see?”

Kaia wiped her tears, her voice shaky as she began to speak. “I saw a world where the Lycans have won… they’ve destroyed everything. They’ve enslaved our kind, reducing wolves to nothing more than tools for their twisted pleasure. And humans… they treat them like garbage, like they don’t

even matter.”

A heavy silence fell over the room as the gravity of Kaia’s vision sank in. Markus tightened his hold on her, his jaw clenched in anger and determination. “We won’t let that happen,” he vowed. “We’ll stop them.”

“There might be some hope,” Kaia added, her voice gaining a little strength. “In my vision, I saw something… or about something called Dispell Poems.”

Markus frowned, his brows knitting together in confusion. “Dispell Poems? What are those? I’ve

never heard of them.”

Kaia shook her head, frustrated by the gaps in her knowledge. “I don’t know exactly. But in the vision, the Lycans were desperate to find the last survivors of a certain bloodline-those who carry the knowledge of these poems. They were saying that these Dispell Poems could hurt them, even destroy them.”

Markus exchanged a glance with Azriel, his expression growing more determined. “I never heard in my entire existence of such a thing. When the Lycans were defeated in the past, we used every dirty trick that we knew and methods that we were not proud of. Plus, the element of surprise was crucial. But now, there is no way to use the same methods as they are already on alert. We need to find right away. I’ll summon Aura, the witch. Maybe she can give us some insight. Or call Layzal and ask him, considering his long existence, maybe he came across something like this. Till then,

please let’s keep this info only between us present here.”

Kaia hesitated, a conflicted look crossing her face. “There’s something else… something more

personal.”

Markus turned to her, his eyes narrowing slightly. “What is it, Kaia?”

She took a long, steadying breath, as if preparing herself for what she was about to say. When she

finally spoke, her voice was tinged with sadness and regret. “In my vision… I saw who was

spreading the pandemic infection. It’s not just random… it’s someone specific.”

Markus felt a cold dread settle in his stomach. “Who is it?”

Kaia’s gaze shifted to Lora, her eyes full of sorrow. “It’s Alena… your sister, Lora.”

Lora’s face went pale, her entire body freezing in shock. “What? No… that can’t be…”

Kaia’s voice wavered as she continued. “I saw her in my vision. She’s been preying on desperate

men, dazzling them with her beauty, and then… she touches them with a powder on her fingers.

That powder… it makes her immune, but everyone she comes into contact with becomes

infected.”

Lora staggered back, disbelief and horror etched on her face. “Alena… she was cruel and greedy,

but to cause this mass destruction …”

Markus stepped forward, his voice hard with resolve. “We have to act quickly. If Alena is

responsible, we need to stop her before she causes any more damage.”

Lora was still in shock, but she nodded, her eyes filling with tears. “I’ll… I’ll help in any way I can. But … goddess, what has she done?”

Markus placed a hand on Lora’s shoulder, his expression fierce. “We’ll figure this out, Lora. The

Lycans are using this disease as a weapon, and we need to find a way to stop it. We’ll deal with

Alena… and whatever comes next.”
