Carter’s Tnal-1

Carter’s Trial-1

The news of Alpha Carter’s betrayal spread through the werewolf community like wildfire.

Whispers of shock and disbelief echoed in every pack house, from the smallest enclave to the largest stronghold. The idea that a council member, a trusted leader, had conspired with the

Lycans, was too horrifying to comprehend.

Alice Carter, however, refused to believe it. Storming through the castle halls, she demanded an

audience with King Markus. Her face was streaked with tears, and her voice cracked with

desperation.

But Markus, knowing the confession her father had made, instructed his guards to bar her from entering his chambers. “There’s no misunderstanding,” he told her shortly. “Your father has confessed. There’s nothing more to discuss.”

The moment of the public trial arrived with a somber, heavy atmosphere. The courtyard of the castle was packed with werewolves from all over the territory: pack members, council members, and even some leaders from neighboring packs who had heard the news and wanted to see the trial for themselves. They stood in tense silence, their expressions ranging from confusion to outrage. At the center of the courtyard, a platform had been erected where Alpha Carter would face his final judgment.

When Alpha Carter was brought out, the crowd gasped. The once proud and formidable

Alpha looked like a shadow of his former self, his face gaunt and pale, his shoulders slumped as if the weight of his sins had physically crushed him. His eyes, once sharp and commanding, were now hollow, filled with a despair that even the strongest of werewolves would struggle to bear.

Alice was there, at the front of the crowd, putting on the performance of her life. She wailed and screamed, tears pouring down her face as she pleaded for mercy for her father. “He’s innocent! This is all a mistake!” she cried, clutching at her chest as if her heart was breaking. But her pleas

fell on deaf ears. The surrounding werewolves looked on with a mix of pity and disgust, knowing

that no amount of tears could wash away the stain of treachery.

Markus stood tall on the platform, his face a mask of grim determination. He addressed the

gathered wolves, his voice carrying the weight of a king’s authority.

“Alpha Carter stands accused of the gravest of crimes: betraying his own kind, conspiring with the

Lycans against us. He has confessed to his actions, and today, justice will be served.”

He then turned to Carter, his eyes hard as steel. “Do you have anything to say before I pass the

sentence?” Carter, with tears in his eyes, raised his head to face Markus. His voice was strained,

full of regret and sorrow. “I did what I thought was necessary,” he

said, his voice trembling. “I wanted to protect my pack, my daughter… I wanted her to be happy, to have the life she deserves, despite the mistakes that she he commited. But I was wrong. I see that

now. My actions have brought nothing but pain and suffering. For that, I am truly sorry.”

The crowd was silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air. Even Alice, still sobbing, fell quiet as she listened to her father’s final confession. Markus nodded slowly, his expression unreadable

as he prepared to deliver the final judgment.

But before he could speak, something horrifying began to happen. Black veins started to spread across Alpha Carter’s skin, creeping up from his hands to his neck, and then over his face. The crowd gasped in terror, and a ripple of panic spread through them. People began to back away, unsure of what was happening. The veins pulsed with a sinister energy, and Carter’s eyes widened in agony as his body convulsed.

Lora, sensing the danger, tried to rush forward, but Azriel grabbed her by the shoulders, his grip firm. “It’s too late,” he said in a low, urgent voice, his eyes never leaving Alpha Carter.

Carter’s screams echoed through the courtyard as his body began to wither, the life draining from him in a matter of moments. His skin shriveled and dried, cracking like old parchment, and his eyes rolled back into his head. The crowd watched in horrified fascination as he crumbled before their eyes, reduced to nothing more than a desiccated husk in mere seconds.
