Past Memories-2

He continued, his voice weighted with sorrow. “For many years, I thought that chapter of my life was closed. But Tonya’s rage and insecurities resurfaced when, after so many years, the Goddess

blessed your mother with her fated mate. Despite the age difference, it was a match made in

heaven. I was genuinely happy for her, and we even attended her Luna ceremony.”

Markus listened silently, absorbing the revelations about his mother and the complex emotions

that must have driven her actions. “And my father?” he asked quietly. “Did he know about your

history with my mother?”

Anton nodded, a sad smile flickering across his lips. “Yes, he knew. Your father was aware of our

past, but he never doubted the bond between him and his mate. He was a wise and understanding

man, and he welcomed me as a friend despite past history.”

Azriel’s fists clenched at his sides, his grief and anger at the situation palpable. “But Tonya… she couldn’t let go of her jealousy,” he said through gritted teeth. “And she took it to such extremes.”

Anton’s eyes filled with regret as he nodded solemnly. “I never imagined, not in my wildest dreams, that she would become so obsessed and do something so reckless and cruel. I loved her, Azriel. I always tried to make her feel secure and loved, but it seems that it was never enough for her.”

The room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of the revelations settling over them like a shroud.

Each of them grappled with their own emotions and the knowledge that Tonya’s insecurities and

jealousy had led to such devastating consequences.

After a long moment of silence, the weight of the revelations hung heavily in the air. Lora, her voice

steady but soft, broke the stillness. “So, now what? What is next?”

Azriel, his eyes filled with a determined fire, spoke up. “Now, we need to find the dirtbag who

helped Tonya.”

Lora intervened, her tone practical but gentle. “That can wait a bit longer, Azriel. It was buried for

so many years. I am talking about now, today, the crowning ceremony.”

Markus turned to Kaia, a conflicted look in his eyes. His voice trembled as he spoke. “This will all depend on Kaia.”

Kaia, still grappling with the enormity of the situation, looked at him in confusion. “What do you

mean?”

Markus took a deep breath, steadying himself. “It depends on whether you still want to go ahead with the ceremony, considering the given facts.”

Kaia felt a wave of emotions crashing over her. She looked at Markus, tears welling up in her eyes.

“Markus, you should not pay for your parent’s mistakes. Yes, it is a shock for all of us, and today I

almost died, but at the same time, we should not punish ourselves for the actions of a

madwoman. After my near to death experience of today, I realized that each moment is precious.

Markus let out a long breath, relief and gratitude washing over him. He turned towards Azriel, his

voice filled with hope and determination. “We still have your blessing?”

Azriel nodded, his expression serious but supportive. “You have my blessing.”

The atmosphere in the room shifted, the determination to move forward despite the darkness that had been uncovered bringing a sense of resolve. Lora gave a small, encouraging smile. “Alright then, we need to get you both ready. The ceremony must go on. Kaia, let’s go back to your room and change this dress.”

With renewed purpose, they set about preparing for the crowning ceremony.
