Crowning Ceremony-1

Clark

After their return to Kaia’s rooms, she felt a wave of exhaustion wash over her, her body trembling with the weight of the day’s revelations. Lora rushed to her side, concern on her face. “Kaja, are you okay?”

Kaia managed a weak smile, sinking into a chair with Lora’s help. “Today was… overwhelming. Finding out about the Queen’s intentions, the fight for my life, witnessing her death, and then learning about my mother and Anton… It’s all just too much.”

Lora nodded understandingly, placing a comforting hand on Kaia’s shoulder. “And on top of everything, the news of your pregnancy. That’s a lot to process.”

Kaia touched her abdomen lightly, her eyes filling with tears. “It’s surreal, Lora. I had no idea… not

even Sierra knew.”

“Hmm…” Lora pondered for a moment. “How could the Queen have known? It all happened so quickly.”

Kaia sighed, leaning into Lora’s comforting embrace. “I have no idea. Everything happened in a

blur.”

Lora hugged her tightly, her voice soft and reassuring. “Are you sure you can go through with the ceremony today? No one would blame you if you wanted to postpone.”

Kaia hesitated, considering the weight of Lora’s words. “No, I need to do this. For Markus, for us. I

don’t want him to feel insecure because I want to delay. I can do it.”

Just then, Markus entered the room, his expression filled with concern. “Kaia, your well-being is crucial to me. To hell with the ceremony. I just want you to be happy. We can postpone it.”

Tears welled up in Kaia’s eyes as she looked at Markus, overwhelmed by his love and understanding. She whispered softly, “I just love you… and when I realized that I might not see you again when I was trapped and injured… all I wanted was you. At least, to see you for one more time before…”

Markus’s gaze softened, his heart swelling with love for her. He turned to Lora with a determined expression. “Can I have some time alone with my mate, Lora? I’ll help her prepare. Let everyone know that there will be a three-hour delay.”

Lora nodded as she left the room, giving them privacy.

Markus knelt in front of Kaia, his arms wrapping tightly around her, pulling her close as if afraid she might vanish. His voice trembled with emotion as he whispered, “I thought I lost you. I am

ashamed to call her my mother. She blindsided all of us… Please, forgive me.”

Kaia looked at him with confusion and concern. “Forgive you? For what?”

Markus’s voice was thick with emotion as he barely managed to reply, “Because you warned me about her. You tried to tell me, but I thought it was just the usual friction between a mother-in-law

and a new mate.”

Kaia hugged him back, feeling the weight of his guilt and sorrow. “I wasn’t fully honest with you

either.”

Markus pulled back slightly, searching her eyes. “What do you mean?”

Taking a deep breath, Kaia confessed, “I had a premonition about this. I saw how your mother

wanted to kill me, the details were the same… everything.”

Markus’s brow furrowed in shock and concern. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t want to worry you,” Kaia said softly. “You had enough on your plate with the pandemic, the lycan threat, the pressure of the Council.”

Markus hugged her even tighter, his voice filled with regret. “Oh love, you are my everything. Forgive me for being so foolish and blind.”

Kaia nodded, her heart aching for both of them. “We should prepare for the coronation.”

“I wasn’t joking when I said we could postpone,” Markus reminded her gently.

“I know,” Kaia replied, determination in her voice. “But I want this to be out of the way. The pack

needs stability now more than ever.”

Markus caressed her face tenderly, his eyes filled with admiration. “You spoke like a true Luna. I am

the luckiest man in the world to have someone like you by my side, and I thank Moon Goddess

every day for you.”

With a sudden, swift motion, he stood up and scooped her into his arms, carrying her

princess-style. Kaia let out a surprised scream, clutching at him as he carried her to the bathroom.

He set her down gently, his hands moving to unzip her dress.
