The Breaking Point-1

Elora returned to the infirmary with a renewed sense of purpose. Taking a long, calming breath, she stepped toward another infected pack member, extending her hands and focusing on her healing energy, supported by Azriel. The warm light of her gift enveloped the patient, and after a few moments, their breathing eased and their dark veins and infection subsided.

She repeated the process, healing several more patients. When she approached her mother again, however, the red haze of the Omega’s Fury threatened to take over. This time, expecting it, she managed to control it without needing to flee. Her mother’s weak form stirred emotions she had buried deep within, but Elora pushed through and skipped her, healing the remaining infected werewolves until there were less than ten left.

Feeling utterly drained, she turned to Azriel and whispered, “We’ll do the rest tomorrow.”

Azriel nodded, understanding her limits. Together, they exited the infirmary, Elora straightening herself when she saw Alpha Ben and her father, Beta Graham, waiting in the hallway.

Alpha Ben offered a grateful nod. “Thank you for healing our pack members today.”

But Beta Graham’s expression was far from grateful. His voice was conflicted and barely contained as he asked, “Why is my wife still infected?”

Azriel raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?”

“You heard me well,” Graham continued, his tone challenging. “Why is my mate still infected? She is in better shape than the others, so it should have been an easy task.”

“Easy?” Azriel’s voice rose with incredulity. “Do you believe dealing with this pandemic is easy?”

Alpha Ben stepped in, attempting to calm the situation. “It will happen soon, Graham.”

But Graham was not placated. “This is my mate, the Beta female of the pack!” he shouted. “She

should have been healed first.”

Azriel’s voice carried through the hallway, loud and commanding. “Are you saying your mate’s life is more important than the others who have been waiting for weeks to be healed?”

“And whose fault is this?” Graham screamed back. “You left us waiting for weeks, prioritizing even those bloodsuckers over us. We are a strong pack, a strong ally, and this is how you treat us? We

will raise this to the Council for sure.”

Elora’s anger surged. These people were shameless and entitled, not having learned anything from their downfall. She tried to mind ink Azriel, but his temper had unintentionally blocked her. The clashing auras and rising tempers hurt her deeply, especially her father’s arrogant attitude. Instead

of showing gratitude, they acted as if they were owed something.

“I’ve had enough of them,” Tara, her wolf, whispered in anger.

“Me too,” Elora replied, feeling something shifting inside her. “Please protect the pups in our womb. I need to deal with these pests. Enough is enough. I will not hide anymore.”

“Done,” Tara responded before withdrawing into Elora’s mind.

Elora stepped forward from behind Azriel and shouted, “Enough!”

The single word echoed through the hallway, freezing everyone in place. All eyes turned to her, and she felt the weight of their stares.

“You think you deserve special treatment?” Elora’s voice was strong and unwavering. “You think your mate’s life is more important than others? Look around you! This pandemic has affected everyone equally. Your arrogance and entitlement are disgusting.”

Graham’s face flushed with anger, but Elora continued, her voice steady and filled with authority. “I am here, despite my personal history with this pack, to help save lives. Yet all I see is the same arrogance that led to your downfall. You should be grateful that everyone is being healed at all.”

With these words, she removed her mask, revealing herself in front of everyone. Both Alpha Ben and her father froze in shock as they realised that Elora was the one healing them.

Azriel stood beside her, his presence a silent but powerful support. “My mate speaks the truth,” he said. “We are here to help, but we will not tolerate this disrespect.”

Alpha Ben looked torn, glancing between Elora and his Beta. “Elora, we are grateful-”

She cut him off, her eyes blazing. “No more words. Actions speak louder. Show your gratitude through your actions and stop acting like you are owed something. This is your last chance to prove that you have learned from your past mistakes. But what I am seeing here is the same entitled attitude, like you are the kings of the world. Flash news: you are just a pack of ungrateful werewolves who learnt nothing, despite your age and past mistakes that you committed. I don’t owe anything to anyone, especially to someone in this pack.”
