Facing the Past-2

Azriel took a deep breath, trying to quell his own worries as he gently repositioned himself without waking her. He reached for his phone and dialled King Markus. As the call connected, he updated Markus on their progress.

Markus listened intently, his concern evident. “Azriel, Elora’s well-being is a priority. She needs to be

strong to help others.”

Azriel sighed, rubbing his forehead. “I know, Markus. I’m worried because, in other packs, she was able to heal larger crowds without being so exhausted. Here, she’s struggling a lot.”

Markus paused before speaking again, his tone thoughtful. “From what I’ve read about the Omega’s Gift, it’s deeply connected to emotions and compassion. Considering Elora’s past with this pack and its members, it’s likely to impact her healing capacity. The emotional strain is draining her more than usual.”

Azriel’s eyes softened as he looked down at Elora sleeping peacefully. “So, her past here is affecting her gift. That makes sense.”

Markus continued, his voice filled with admiration. “You have an amazing mate, Azriel. She’s putting aside her personal feelings for the greater good, even though it’s costing her dearly. You’re lucky to have her.”

A proud grin spread across Azriel’s face. “I know,” he said simply, his heart swelling with love and respect for Elora.

As the call ended, Azriel sat in silence, contemplating Markus’s words. He gently stroked Elora’s hair, his mind filled with determination. He knew the path ahead would be challenging, but with Elora by his side, he felt ready to face anything. He would support her, protect her, and cherish her

every step of the way.

When Elora finally stirred from her nap, she looked up at Azriel with a tired but determined smile. “Ready for another round?” she asked softly.

Azriel smiled back, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “Always,” he replied, his voice filled with unwavering support. “But only when you’re ready. We’ll take it one step at a time. I know that you want to finish this fast and return to our pack and Asher, but do it at your own pace, even if we need to stay here one week.”

Following Azriel’s guidance, Elora continued the healing at her own pace. Each day, she managed to heal around a dozen infected pack members. Though the progress was slower than she wished, Alpha Ben felt immense relief as he saw his pack members gradually recovering. The days passed

in a blur of exhaustion and determination.

As Elora approached the final group of less than twenty members still needing healing, she felt a renewed sense of urgency. She was confident that, with a little push, she could heal everyone and finally leave this place behind. However, her plans were derailed when a new case was brought into the quarantine room, none other than her own mother, Ava Black.

All of Elora’s concentration was shattered at that moment. Azriel, sensing her turmoil, held her tightly in support. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the sight of her mother lying there, sick and vulnerable, brought a rush of conflicting emotions.

Elora focused on the task at hand, healing a few more cases before reaching her mother. She took a long breath, ready to place her hands on Ava’s chest. But instead of the warm, glowing light of healing, she felt a strong, red force coursing through her hands. The Omega’s Fury.

Panic surged through her. She suddenly pushed Azriel aside and ran from the room, leaving everyone in shock. Azriel quickly followed her, his concern growing with each step.

“Lora!” he called out, catching up to her as she stopped in a secluded hallway. He placed his hands on her shoulders, turning her to face him. “What happened?”

Tears streamed down Elora’s cheeks as she looked up at him, her eyes filled with fear and frustration. “Instead of the healing power, I was about to use the Omega’s Fury,” she confessed, her voice trembling. “I barely contained myself.”

Azriel’s eyes widened in understanding. He pulled her into a comforting embrace, holding her tightly as she sobbed against his chest.

“It’s okay, Elora,” he whispered, stroking her hair. “You did the right thing by stopping. We’ll figure this out together.”

lora clung to him, drawing strength from his presence. “I thought I was over all of this,” she murmured. “But seeing her… I don’t know if I can control it. It was like I was under a rage spell. All I wanted to do was destroy, to make her suffer, to punish her.”

Azriel pulled back slightly, lifting her chin so she would look at him. “You are stronger than your realize. We’ll take this one step at a time. You don’t have to face this alone.”

“Azriel,… I am not sure that I can heal her. When I touched her, all I wanted to do was to destroy her,

to make her feel the same pain that I felt,” Lora confessed in a lower voice.

“I understand, my love, but there is only one way that we can find out. Let’s return to the infirmary…

come,” Azriel said, while taking her hand gently and pulling her after him.

Once they reached back into the infected area, Azriel squeezed her hand in support, as she took a
