Angry Mate-1

Tim was a mess from the moment he sensed his mate. His senses were in overdrive, his entire
being burning with desire and longing. Yet, these feelings couldn’t compete with the pain in his chest, a result of his mate’s apparent indifference to him. He knew he had to control himself on this mission, ensuring the security and support of their group, but it was excruciatingly hard to
resist sneaking glances at her.
She was tall and lean, with dark caramel skin that seemed to glow. He couldn’t determine her hair
length as it was styled in a small bun, but her hypnotic dark brown eyes, long lashes, and full lips
captivated him. Tim was perplexed by her lack of reaction. Could it be that she couldn’t feel the
bond between them?
By the time they were shown to their rooms, Tim was a hot mess. Once inside his room, he paced back and forth, his mind racing. He stripped off his clothes and took a cold shower, trying to cool down his heated body, but nothing worked. Thinking at her, he touched himself, exploding just in few minutes, but, it was just a temporary solution, as his body was not satisfied with this quick fix. After the shower, he dressed again, but he still couldn’t calm down.
His wolf, Blake, was just as agitated, pushing him relentlessly. “Let’s go see mate, let’s find her, she is
ours.”
“Blake, she is a vampire,” Tim screamed internally, but his beast was unhinged. “I don’t care, she was given to us by the Moon Goddess, so her fate is with us. Let’s go.”
“She doesn’t want us,” Tim argued in a broken voice.
“You don’t know that for sure,” Blake replied.
“She did not spare us any look, she is like a statue!” Tim protested.
“I don’t care. If she rejects us, at least we will know for sure. Let’s go and find her, now!” Blake pushed.
Tim knew there was no reasoning with Blake. The bond was driving them both to the brink of insanity. Giving in to his wolf’s insistence, he slipped out of his room and quietly made his way down the hallway. He moved with the stealth of a predator, his heightened senses guiding him
towards his mate.
He found her in a secluded part of the coven, seemingly lost in thought. Her back was to him. Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward. “Excuse me,” he said softly, his voice trembling.
She turned slowly, her eyes widening slightly in surprise before her expression became impassive again. “Yes?” she asked, her voice cool and measured.

“I’m Tim,” he said, trying to keep his voice steady. “I… I believe we’re mates.”

For a moment, there was silence. Then, her eyes narrowed slightly, and she sighed. “I am aware,” she said, her tone devoid of emotion. “But that doesn’t change anything.”
Tim’s heart sank. “Why? Why doesn’t it change anything?”
She looked at him with a mixture of pity and resignation. “Because I have my duties and my own
life. I can’t afford distractions, especially not now.”
“Distractions?” Tim echoed, feeling a mixture of anger and desperation. “Is that all I am to you?”
She closed her eyes for a moment, as if gathering her thoughts. “It’s not that simple,” she said finally. “But you need to understand, my responsibilities come first. Our kind… my kind, we live by different rules. Bonds like this are rare, and while they are important, they are not always welcome.”
Tim took a step closer, his eyes pleading. “Please, give us a chance. I can feel the bond, the connection between us. It’s real, and it’s strong.”
She looked at him, her eyes softening slightly. “It’s not about the bond being real or strong. It’s about what we can and cannot afford to sacrifice. You have your duties, and I have mine. This mission is too important to be clouded by personal matters. Especially now. My kind relies on my and I can’t be distracted. To serve at this level is a priviledge.”
Tim’s shoulders slumped, the weight of her words crashing down on him. “So, what now? You are planning to reject me?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
