Layzal led them to a spacious room adorned with dark, luxurious furnishings. “Please, make yourselves comfortable,” he said, gesturing to the plush seating.

Azriel and Lora settled on a couch, while Tim remained standing along with the rest of the joining werewolf delegation, their tension palpable.

“We are grateful for your cooperation,” Layzal began, addressing Azriel. “Our alliance is crucial in

these trying times.”

Azriel nodded. “Indeed. The situation is dire, and we must work together to overcome this threat”

Lora observed the interaction, feeling the weight of their mission. She mind-linked Azriel. *He

seems genuine. Let’s hope this works out.*

*Agreed,* Azriel replied. *But stay alert.I hate surprises.*

Layzal turned towards Lora, his expression one of curiosity. “It’s unusual for a Luna to join her mate in enemy territory, practically.”

Lora nodded, understanding his point. “I see what you mean, but I am also a doctor. My presence is required, especially considering the circumstances.”

Layzal’s eyes widened slightly in admiration. “Impressive,” he said, nodding. “We will show you to your rooms. Once you are comfortable, you can come down to meet the infected members.”

Azriel stepped forward. “How many are in this coven?”

“Aside from Princess Mara, there are five more,” Layzal replied with a grim voice.

Azriel nodded. “We will be downstairs in 30 minutes to meet the sick.”

They were led through a series of winding corridors to their quarters. The rooms were elegantly

furnished, with dark wood and rich fabrics creating a warm, somber ambiance.

Lora took a moment to sit on the edge of the bed, her thoughts racing. She felt the weight of the responsibility on her shoulders, knowing that the lives of these vampires depended on her abilities.

She was also acutely aware of the unease among her own group, especially Tim’s turmoil over

finding his mate among the vampires.

“Are you ready?” Azriel’s voice broke through her thoughts.

“As ready as I can be,” she replied, taking a deep breath. “Let’s do this,” before she fixed on her face

a mask covering her entirely and a big black coat covering her frame completely.

Under the cover of night, Lora disguised herself with a large cape and a face mask, ensuring he identity and purpose remained hidden. She joined two other werewolf females in the hallway, who were similarly disguised. Their attire made it impossible to distinguish who was who, and they had used a special spray to mask their scents. The trio moved silently, their steps echoing in the quiet

corridor.

When they arrived downstairs, Layzal raised an eyebrow in curiosity. “Interesting choice of attire… but smart,” he remarked, nodding appreciatively.

He led them to the isolation rooms where the sick vampires were kept. As they reached the door,

Layzal’s face turned somber. “Here is Princess Mara,” he said, pain evident in his voice.

Azriel stepped forward, his tone firm. “We will take it from here.”

Layzal hesitated. “I will remain as well.”

Azriel shook his head. “You are not allowed in the room.”

After a moment’s pause, Layzal nodded in agreement and stepped back. Azriel and Lora entered the room, the door closing softly behind them.

Princess Mara lay on the bed, her condition visibly dire. Black veins were across her skin, and she thrashed in pain, her eyes wild with distress. Seeing them enter, she tried to attack, but restraints

held her back.

Lora approached her cautiously. “Princess Mara, we are here to try and heal you. Please stay still.”

The vampiress looked at Lora with a mix of fear and hope, her eyes flickering with the effort to remain calm. She nodded her head, allowing Lora to place her hands on her chest. Azriel moved behind Lora, gently holding her to provide support and strength to his mate, fully opening their

mate bond and connection.

As Lora’s hands made contact with Mara’s chest, a soft glow emanated from her palms. She closed her eyes, focusing on her energy and channeling the healing power that had been gifted to her. The glow intensified, spreading over Mara’s body, illuminating the dark veins with a warm,

soothing light.

Mara gasped, her body tensing before gradually relaxing into Lora’s touch. The black veins slowly began to recede, the darkness lifting from her skin. Lora concentrated harder, sweat forming on her brow as she poured all her strength into the healing process.

Azriel held her steady, “You’re doing great, my dove,” he whispered, his voice a steady anchor in the

middle of the turmoil.

Minutes felt like hours, but finally, the glow began to fade. Lora opened her eyes, exhaustion

evident in her features. She removed her hands from Mara’s chest, and Azriel carefully released his

hold.

Princess Mara lay still for a moment, her eyes closed. Then, she opened them, looking up at Lora and Azriel with a mixture of gratitude and awe. “Thank you,” she whispered, her voice weak but

sincere.

Lora smiled tiredly. “Rest now, Princess.”

Azriel helped Lora, steadying her as they moved away from the bed. They exited the room, finding Layzal waiting anxiously outside.

“How is she?” Layzal asked, his eyes searching their faces for any sign of hope.

“She’s healed,” Azriel replied. “But she needs to rest.”

For a moment, Layzal looked at them with an incredulous expression, as if he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Then, in a blur of motion, he rushed into the room to check on his beloved. The silence that followed was tense, with Lora and Azriel waiting outside.

After a few moments, Layzal re-emerged from the room. His eyes were wet with unshed tears, a mix of relief and gratitude washing over his features. “I will never forget this,” he said, his voice choked with emotion. “You have my eternal gratitude.”

Azriel gave a nod, his expression serious yet kind. “We’re glad we could help. Now, please show us

to the next sick vampires.”
