A Royal Homecoming-1

The helicopter touched down on the helipad with a soft thud. Markus stepped out first, followed by Kaia. The air was crisp, and the scent of pine trees filled the atmosphere.
Atlas, Markus’s Beta, was waiting for them, with a grave look on his face. As Markus approached, Atlas’s eyes caught the fresh mäting mark on Markus’s neck. He let out a playful whistle. “Congratulations are in order, Your Highness,” he teased. “It was about time to wear that mark.”
Markus laughed, a deep, hearty sound that eased some of the tension Kaia felt. “Thank you, Atlas. It was long overdue.”
Atlas turned to Kaia and bowed respectfully. “Your Highness, welcome back to the Royal Pack.”
Kaia blushed slightly, not yet used to the formality. Markus noticed and chuckled. “No need to be so formal, Atlas. We’re all family here,” and after he turned towards Kaia, “You remember Atlas, my
Beta.”
Kaia nodded her head in respect, greeting him warmly, “Hello Atlas, I hope you and your family are doing well.”
Atlas straightened up, his smile widening, “Aria, my mate is in the nursery, helping with the pups and trying to keep everyone calm. Should I ask her to accompany you for the next few days?”
But before Kaia could respond, Markus nodded. “Yes, please. Have her meet Kaia in my wing’s lobby in about an hour.”
Kaia looked a bit unsure. “I don’t want to disturb her.”
“Nonsense,” Atlas said with a dismissive wave. “It will be an honor for Aria to help you.”
Atlas mind linked Aria, and Markus turned to Kaia, his expression softening. “Trust me, my love.
The next few days will be hectic, and Aria is perfect to support you and teach you the ropes.”
Kaia took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay, I trust you.”
Markus smiled, taking her hand in his. “But now, let’s introduce you to the werewolves as their new
Queen.” What Markus did not tell her was the fact that, before their arrival, Markus asked Atlas to make sure that the entire Royal court and all the pack members were present for an important
announcement.
Kaia’s heart raced as they entered the grand entrance of the castle. The interior was even more majestic than she remembered. Tall ceilings adorned with intricate chandeliers, grand staircases leading to different wings, and portraits of past leaders lined the walls. Atlas led the way, and soon they found themselves in the main hall where a gathering of werewolves awaited them, at the front

As Markus and Kaia stepped in front of the gathered pack, Kaia felt a sudden wave of panic. The sheer number of people, hundreds of eyes fixed on her, was overwhelming. Her breathing quickened, but then she felt it, the calming presence of Markus through their mate bond. His love and support wrapped around her like a warm blanket, giving her the strength she needed.
Trying to find her balance, she reached out and touched the banister of one of the stairs for
support. The moment her fingers made contact, a powerful flash of images flooded her mind as
she froze in place. It was like watching a movie play out before her eyes.
She saw Markus, dressed in a dashing uniform, his eyes filled with love as he smiled at her. “Our
son will be home soon from the Alpha’s Academy, finally,” he said, his voice warm and filled with
pride.
The image was so vivid, so real, that it took her breath away. Then, just as suddenly as it had come
the vision broke, and she was back in the present, surrounded by the crowd. She noticed Markus’s
concerned look and quickly smiled at him, reassuring him that she was okay, while her heart was
still trembling; she just had a new vision, and it seemed that her visions were caused by touching
people or objects.
Scanning the faces in front of her, her eyes involuntarily fell on Queen Tonya, whose expression
was frozen and unreadable. A chill ran down Kaia’s spine, but she chose to ignore it, focusing
instead on Markus.
Markus cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the pack. “Thank you all for gathering here. I
have an announcement to make,” he began, his voice strong and clear. “Many of you have probably
noticed the mark on our necks. Yes, I can confirm that it is a mate’s mark. I have chosen my
beloved mate, and I am thrilled and honored to introduce to you all the future werewolf queen,
Queen Kaia.”
