In the days that followed, Kaia found herself accepting Markus’s invitations more readily, each encounter bringing them closer together. Markus, increasingly smitten with Kaia, was captivated by her strength and vulnerability. His feelings for her grew with each passing day, and he found himself drawn to her in ways he had never experienced before.

Kaia, despite her initial fears and hesitations, was surprised by Markus’s openness and genuine desire to prove himself to her. Her heart fluttered each time he was around, and she could not deny the growing attraction between them.

Their dates were filled with moments of connection and discovery. They talked about their pasts their dreams, and their fears. Markus’s candidness and sincerity slowly broke down Kaia’s walls, and she began to trust him more deeply. The kisses they shared at the end of each date became more heated, charged with a growing passion that neither could ignore.

One evening, after a particularly enchanting date, they shared a kiss that left both of them breathless. Markus looked into Kaia’s eyes, seeing the flicker of desire and trust that mirrored his own feelings. Plus, he could smell her arousal, which was driving him crazy.

He wanted to tell her about the Royal Courtship protocol that forced his hand, but he couldn’t bring himself to shatter the fragile progress they had made. Markus himself was enraged when he heard for the first time about it when his father spoke to him about the Royal Courtship protocol, reminding him of its significance. Markus was shocked and vehemently rejected the idea, calling it an outdated practice from hundreds of years ago. “This is ridiculous, Father. We don’t need to

follow such archaic traditions,” he argued, his voice filled with frustration.

Queen Tonya joined the conversation, her tone sharp and unwavering. “If you have someone in mind, then there should be no issue, Markus. She only needs to prove herself worthy and pass the challenges and tests planned for the Royal Courtship.”

Markus’s eyes blazed with anger. “This is absurd, Mother,” as he left the room in anger.

But when the Council brought up the Royal Courtship during a formal meeting, Markus felt trapped. The Council members, echoing his mother’s words, insisted that the protocol must be followed to ensure the future queen was worthy of her position. Despite his best efforts to find a

way out of it, Markus realized disheartened that the event would need to happen.

Markus struggled with the decision to tell Kaia about the Royal Courtship. Every time he saw her

vulnerable look, the way she was slowly blooming under his care and affection, he hesitated.

He feared that revealing the truth would destroy all the progress they had made and drive her away. He hated keeping the secret from her, but he wanted more time to woo her, to build a

As the days went by, Markus’s internal conflict grew. He knew he couldn’t keep the truth from Kaia forever, but he hoped to find the right moment, the right words, to explain the situation without losing her.

One week after deciding to stay longer in the royal pack, Kaia received an elegant invitation. delivered by a maid one afternoon. Her heart raced with anticipation as she opened it, seeing was from Queen Tonya, inviting her for tea the same day. Kaia found the Queen intimidating and

couldn’t shake the feeling that the Queen didn’t like her, despite her friendly demeanor.

At 3:50 PM, Kaia left her room, dressed in an appropriate dress, and followed the instructions to

reach the Queen’s quarters. Once inside, she was guided to a tea room. As she approached, to her

surprise, she could hear multiple voices, which made her hesitant and confused. When she entered

the room, her heart stopped. The room was filled with various elegantly dressed women, and at

their center was Queen Tonya herself.

“Welcome, my dear,” the Queen greeted her with a smile.

“Thank you for the invitation, Your Highness,” Kaia replied politely and made her way to an empty seat, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
