Imprinting-2

Stinger continued, “We need to keep doing this, creating a safe environment for her. Sierra needs to know that it’s safe to come forward, that she won’t be hurt.”

Markus nodded, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. “We’ll keep at it. Thank you for supporting her,

Stinger.”

Stinger’s response was calm and resolute. “It is our responsibility to take care of her.”

Markus hummed in approval as he prepared to leave the room, royal responsibilities calling him However, he could still sense Stinger at the surface, unusually present. Markus paused and asked,

“Is everything okay?”

“Yes,” Stinger replied. “I was just looking at her human counterpart. She will make a beautiful queen she accepts us.”

For a second, Markus was in shock. “What do you mean, if she accepts us?”

Stinger removed the emotional block between them, allowing Markus to feel the depth of his emotions. Markus’s voice trembled in disbelief. “You imprinted on her?!”

“Yes,” Stinger confirmed. “She is the only one we’ve met so far that I find it worth standing next to us on the throne. She is selfless, puts others first, she is fair and kind. Plus, I could feel your physical attraction in the past towards her and I felt your disappointment when we realized that she was not our fated mate, years ago when she became 18.”

Markus was shocked, his mind racing. Imprinting was rare and deeply significant, a bond stronger than any other that was overpassed only by the true mate bond. While the chosen mates were a good alliance, the imprinting was a step further. It meant that Stinger had chosen Sierra not just as a mate, but as a partner in their leadership and life.

“Why didn’t you tell me before?” Markus asked, struggling to process the revelation.

“I wasn’t sure myself until I felt her presence again today when I met her wolf,” Stinger explained. “But now, seeing her, feeling her spirit… she is the one for us, Markus.”

Markus looked at Kaia’s still form, his heart pounding. The implications of Stinger’s imprinting

were immense. Kaia, who had suffered so much and was still in a coma, was now at the center of

their future.

“What do we do now? You realize that it would be almost an impossible task for her to accept us. She suffered so much, she tried to kill herself!” Markus asked, feeling both hope and despair at the same

time.

“We continue to support her,” Stinger replied. “We show her that we are here for her, that she is not alone. We give her time to heal, and when she’s ready, we let her decide.”

Markus nodded, determination settling over him. “We will be patient. We will be there for her, every step of the way, but what if she doesn’t want to give her a chance?”

“Then, we seduce her!” Stinger replied in a mischievous tone which left Markus perplexed. He never expected this reply from his forever serious wolf.

“Stinger!” Markus told him, confused, having no idea how to react to his suggestion.

“Trust me on this, Markus. We waited enough, but now is the time for action. We need someone next

to us,” Stinger replied, satisfied, before withdrawing back to a corner of his mind.

He took a long look at her, as he caressed her hand and squeezed her gently, as he told her with

emotion in his voice, “Come back to me, Kaia. Come back to us, … mate.”
