Determined to find a solution, Azriel continued, “I’ve decided to send Kaia to the Royal Hospital.”

Lora looked at him, surprised, “The Royal Hospital?”

Azriel nodded. “I have discussed it with Markus already. It’s the only option left. Aura the witch, along with the royal healers, might be able to help her in ways we can’t.”

Lora nodded in agreement, her support unwavering. “Whatever you decide, I’ll always support you.”

Azriel called Doctor Luigi and instructed him to coordinate with the royal hospital for Kaia’s transfer. Doctor Luigi nodded and set to work immediately. Several hours later, he informed Azriel that a helicopter would be ready to transfer Kaia the next morning.

The following morning, Azriel, Lora, James and Sky were gathered together with serious faces to see Kaia as she was carefully loaded into the helicopter. Azriel stood by his expression, a mix of hope and worry. Lora stood close, her presence a constant source of comfort.

As the helicopter lifted off, Azriel watched it disappear into the sky, a silent prayer on his lips. He turned to Lora, his voice steady but his eyes betraying his emotions. “This is our best chance. I just hope the royal healers can do something.”

Lora hugged him tightly. “We have to believe in them, Azriel. Kaia is strong. She’ll fight through

this.”

Together, they walked back to the pack house, their hearts heavy but united in hope. The pack members, sensing the gravity of the situation, offered their silent support.

Markus concentrated on royal matters, handling a load of tasks that demanded his attention. As he sifted through reports and issued commands, a discreet knock on the door interrupted his focus. A messenger entered, bowing slightly before informing him that Kaia had arrived at the royal hospital. Markus nodded in acknowledgment and, once he had concluded his immediate tasks, made his way swiftly toward the medical wing.

Entering the sterile, softly lit corridor, he felt a sense of foreboding. The beeping of machines grew louder as he approached Kaia’s room. Inside, he found her frail, unmoving body connected to various medical devices, a stark contrast to the lively girl he remembered since her childhood. His heart clenched at the sight as he looked from the hallway window towards her medical reserve.

Aura, the witch, approached him quietly, her expression somber. Markus turned to her; his voice laced with urgency. “Aura, can you do anything for her?”

pain. The poor girl is suffering immensely.”

Markus’s heart ached at the revelation. “And her wolf? Is it… gone?”

Aura shook her head slightly. “Her wolf is still alive, but very weak. It’s hidden in a corner of her mind, shattered and broken.”

Desperation tinged Markus’s voice. “Is there any solution, anything that could help her? I heard that Luna Lora tried, but it just healed some of her physical wounds.”

Aura’s expression remained grim. “At this stage, the only thing capable of helping her would be to draw her wolf to the surface. That might give Kaia a fighting chance.”

“How can we do that?” Markus asked, his hope flickering.

Aura sighed softly. “If she had a second chance mate, it might lure her wolf forward. Alternatively a wolf willing to bond with her and take her as a chosen mate could also help. Without that, I’m afraid it’s a lost battle. She will perish day by day.”

Her words hung heavily in the air as Markus absorbed the gravity of the situation. After Aura left, he stood outside Kaia’s room for a long moment, collecting his thoughts and emotions before finally opening the door and stepping inside.
