Chapter 238 Locked In The Fitting Room
The stolen SUV tires gripped the wetsasphalt. The descent from the mountain pass took an hour. Geneva appeared below us in the valley. A grid of gold and white lights sat on the edge of a black lake. Wealth hid in plain sight in this city. A fortress built on offshore accounts and anonymous bank vaults.
Tristan steered the vehicle into the narrow streets of the financial district. He bypassed the main avenues. He parked in a dark alley behind a row of high- end boutiques. The rain started to fall/Cold drops hit the windshield.
“We need the gear, Tristan stated. He cut the engine.
We exited the vehicle. We stood in the shadows of the alley. Tristan approached a heavy steel door. A faded sign above the frame read Ateller Vossen. A tailoring house for the elite.
Tristan knocked on the metal.
We waited in the rain.
The heavy locks clicked. The door opened inward. An older man stood in the frame. He wore a sharp, charcoal suit. A jagged scar crossed his jawline. His dark eyes scanned the alley before settling on my husband.
“Tristan,” the man said. His voice held a rough, gravel texture. “You bring federal heat to my door.”
“I bring a closed tab, Luka, Tristan replied. He stepped forward, shielding me from the rain. “I cashed in the favor. The broker confirmed the transaction.”
Luka stepped aside. He gestured for us to enter.
We walked into a dim showroom. Rolls of imported silk and Italian wool lined the walls. Crystal display cases held expensive watches and custom cufflinks. The front windows featured thick steel security shutters.
Luka walked to a mahogany counter. He pulled two black garment bags and a small titanium case from beneath the wood. He set them on the glass surface.
“The aliases pass standard digital scrutiny,” Luka said. He tapped the titanium case. “The comms bounce through encrypted satellite relays. Untraceable. But you possess a massive problem at the chateau.”
“The proxy doubled the guard, Tristan acknowledged.
“Worse,” Luka corrected. “The proxy grew paranoid. He upgraded the biometric scanners at the main gate an hour ago. The broker inserted your retinal codes into the guest list blockchain. But the new scanners hunt for synthetic anomalies. A forged entry risks an immediate lockdown.”
“We handle the scanners, Tristan said. He picked up the garment bags.
“If they catch you, Tristan, I do not know you, Luka warned. He crossed his arms. “You hold zero corporate shields. The Swiss authorities will hand you
“I need a minute, Tristan groaned. His voice cracked.
“Take it, I whispered.
He spun me around. He pushed me against the glass mirror. The cold surface shocked my bare back. His mouth found the crook of my neck. He bit the pulse point. A sharp, stinging pain. The sting grounded me. The panic in my mind shattered.
I tangled my hands in his thick hair. I pulled his head up. I crashed my mouth against his.
The kiss held zero romance. It was a brutal, urgent collision. We operated on stolen time. We needed the heat. We needed the proof of life. He tasted like
rain and pure adrenaline.
He unclasped my bra. He tossed it to the floor. His hands mapped the curves of my body. A possessive, frantic exploration. I unfastened his belt. I shoved the heavy denim down his hips. I wanted the friction. I wanted the burn.
He lifted my legs. I wrapped them around his waist. He entered me with one hard, breathless thrust.
I bit his shoulder to muffle my gasp. The mirrors reflected our tangled limbs. He drove into me with a desperate, punishing rhythm. Skin met skin. The impact echoed in the quiet room. We claimed each other in the shadows of a foreign city. He set a brutal pace. I matched every strike. The terror of the federal hunt fueled the fire.
