Nora choked on her words. How did the conversation suddenly turn to her?
She had always wanted a child.
But the problem was, Hudson hadn't exactly given her the green light.
He always found a way to use protection, and it wasn't like she could force herself on him.
The only time they hadn't used anything was during the first snowfall a few days ago.
But even if she did get pregnant, it would take at least a month to find out.
How was she supposed to know if anything was happening in her stomach right now?
"Alright, alright, why are you worrying about me?" Nora steered the topic back. "Just worry about yourself."
"True... Hudson is wealthy, gorgeous, and knows how to treat you right. I'm not worried about you at all."
Sienna let out a chuckle and reached up to pinch Nora's cheek. "Nora, you have to promise me you'll be happy."
She wanted Nora to live beautifully, taking all the happiness that she herself had missed out on.
"We'll both be happy."
"Please, good men like your husband are practically extinct. Otherwise, why would I have to steal genes?"
Nora couldn't help but laugh at that, her lingering anxiety fading slightly.
"Alright, I won't hold you up. I need to catch my flight..."
"Already?"
Sienna nodded. "I booked the earliest flight out of Northampton. I'll head to Chicago first, and figure out the rest from there..."
"Okay. Call me when you're settled."
"I will."
After seeing Sienna off, Nora couldn't help but feel a little down.
"Hey now, it's not like you'll never see her again. Once she settles in, I'll take you to visit her. How does that sound?" Hudson smiled, lacing his fingers through hers. "It's about time we headed back to San Francisco anyway. Or do you want to stay a few more days?"
"Let's go back. I have a recording session tomorrow."
They were originally scheduled to return to San Francisco today but had delayed it to attend Liana's celebration party at Finnian's invitation.
She just hadn't expected Sienna to make such a sudden move. She had kept it a total secret, completely ready to burn all her bridges.
Thinking about the chaos at the party, Nora looked up at Hudson. "How do you think the Fairchilds will handle what happened today? They won't retaliate against Sienna, will they?"
"The Fairchilds are the most powerful family in Northampton. Losing face in front of so many people today means they definitely won't let this slide."
"Then Sienna..."
"Don't worry. I've already had Archer send a team after her. They'll keep her trail hidden and protect her from the shadows. She'll be safe."
Nora wrapped her arms around Hudson's waist. "You're amazing. How do you always think of everything?"
While she was busy worrying, he had already taken care of it.
Hudson gently rubbed her shoulders, a faint smile playing on his lips. Because it was her business, he would clear every obstacle in her path.
He never wanted her to fret or worry.
