It was all because of that miserable brat, Nora!
She was the reason her life was ruined!
If it weren't for her, Marcus wouldn't have divorced her, wouldn't have left her absolutely penniless.
If it weren't for her, she wouldn't have sought out Arnold in a fit of spite, throwing herself right into the jaws of a monster.
She had raised Nora, fed her, clothed her, and brought her up. And what did she get in return?
Now that Nora was living the high life, she wouldn't even lift a finger to help.
Penelope leaned against the brick, squeezing her eyes shut.
When she opened them again, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
The line connected almost instantly, and she burst into desperate tears. "Xavi, please, save me..."
...
Meanwhile, after escorting Nora back to her office, Olive headed straight for the adjacent lounge.
Since Nora's identity was no longer a secret at Star Entertainment, Olive didn't need to hide her role as a bodyguard. She even had her own private break room.
There was no need to run up to the Executive Suite anymore.
Just as she happily pulled out her phone to play a matching game, she suddenly remembered the clump of hair she had stashed away earlier.
Penelope's hair.
Olive narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.
She had made a point of studying the older woman's features closely during their brief encounter.
Whether it was the eyes, the nose, the mouth, or even the face shape and hair texture, there was absolutely zero resemblance to Nora.
And don't even get her started on that disgusting old man.
Even a genetic mutation couldn't produce a stunning beauty like her boss from those two.
The more she thought about it, the more suspicious she felt. She locked her phone screen, hopped off the couch, and sneaked quietly into Nora's office.
Nora was buried in a stack of documents. Hearing the noise, she glanced up just as Olive pushed the door open.
"Olive? What is it? Do you need something?"
"Nothing, nothing! Keep working, boss!" Olive waved her hands dismissively. "I was just bored, so I came to hang out."
Nora let out a soft laugh. She figured spending all day cooped up in an office must be agonizingly dull for someone as energetic as Olive.
"Alright, make yourself at home. Just call if you need anything."
"Will do."
Olive grinned and nodded. Seeing Nora dive back into her paperwork, she stealthily crept closer.
Pretending to help organize some folders, she reached over and plucked a stray hair from the shoulder of Nora's jacket, quickly concealing it in her palm.
"Alright, all done! Keep up the good work, I won't bother you anymore!"
With the show becoming a massive hit, everyone in the industry was fighting tooth and nail for a spot.
When a relatively unknown artist dropped subtle hints on Social Media about joining the next recording, it immediately drew attention.
Julian was incredibly skilled at marketing. Even before he appeared on screen, leaked behind-the-scenes photos from the set started circulating.
Half of the photo grid consisted of pictures with Nora, looking unbelievably aesthetic and intimate.
The caption read simply: "So thrilled to record with Rose. Learned so much. Feeling blessed."
The comment section exploded.
"Ahhh, he's so sweet! They look so gorgeous standing together!"
"The chemistry is off the charts! I'm officially shipping this!"
"Julian, tell the truth! You totally have a crush on Rose, don't you?!"
"Am I the only one who thinks they're perfect for each other? She's stunning and he's adorable. I'm obsessed!"
"The rookie knows how to play the game. Great way to ride the hype train."
"Why the hate up there? It's just a normal picture. Don't project your negativity."
Julian's follower count skyrocketed by hundreds of thousands overnight. A dedicated fan page shipping him and Nora was quietly established, and while it was still small, it was highly active.
Suddenly, everyone was eagerly anticipating Julian's appearance in the next episode...
