Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 532

Finnian bent over, gasping for air before straightening up and turning his head toward Sienna.

His wet hair clung to the sides of his face, and water droplets slid down his sharp jawline. His gaze traveled from her red-rimmed eyes all the way down to her trembling fingertips.

Sienna's lips parted, but before she could utter a single word, Finnian pulled her fiercely into his arms.

"How did you end up such a mess after just a little while apart?" he murmured.

"I thought you were dead..."

Finnian's arms tightened around her, his chin resting on the top of her head. "Foolish girl. It takes a lot more than that to kill me."

"You scared me to death! Why did you suddenly send the bodyguards away?"

"It was a trap... But look, I'm perfectly fine."

Sienna didn't say anything more. She just buried her face against his chest, quietly crying.

It was as if all the terror and panic she had just experienced was finally breaking free.

Finnian gently rubbed her back. "Alright, don't cry."

Seeing she was still sobbing, he pulled back slightly, cupping her face in his hands. He pressed a firm, lingering kiss to her forehead, trailing his lips down the curve of her brow.

Sienna was dazed by his sudden affection, tears still clinging to her lashes, but the violent trembling of her body slowly subsided.

He lowered his head and captured her soft, damp lips. His kiss was a little rough, demanding and hungry. He didn't pull back until she was breathless, resting his forehead against hers as their ragged breathing mingled.

The cold wind blew off the river, wrapping around them in the dark of night and pressing his soaked shirt against her body.

This little liar, he thought.

She claimed she never had feelings for him, that she only used him as a surrogate...

But clearly, she was madly in love with him, wasn't she?

She noticed all his little habits.

She cried tears of pure terror for him...

If this wasn't love, what was?

It didn't matter if she was stubborn.

If she wanted to call him a surrogate, fine.

He shot to his feet, his face twisting into something terrifying. "What did you just say?!"

"The estate is burning down! The fire is massive. The fire department is already on their way, but it's completely out of control..."

Before the butler could finish, Silas shoved him aside and sprinted out the door.

He had stored over half of his life's wealth in that estate.

Every single one of those black-market treasures was priceless!

Not to mention the deposit receipts for his Swiss bank accounts were locked inside the basement safe!

Hudson!

It had to be Hudson!

That bastard!

He held Nora's life in his hands!

How dare he?!
