Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 495

Liana Fairchild tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I'd like to do another on-site survey. The load-bearing structure of the Vaughn Headquarters is quite different from my previous projects. I need to see it with my own eyes to find inspiration."

She flashed Vincent Vaughn a flawless, radiant smile.

Lately, Henry Fairchild had been subtly probing her about her thoughts on Vincent. She knew he was angling for a marriage alliance with the Vaughn family.

She had originally harbored feelings for Jude Winslow. Since the true Fairchild heiress had been missing for years and was likely dead, that marriage arrangement naturally would have fallen to her.

But looking at it now, Vincent was leagues ahead of Jude.

If she were to marry Vincent and join the Vaughn family, she certainly wouldn't object.

Vincent arched a brow. "Ms. Fairchild is certainly dedicated..."

A faint blush dusted Liana's cheeks at the compliment.

"Actually, there's no need to go to all that trouble. Just bring out the style of your first internationally acclaimed piece. That shouldn't be too difficult for a brilliant Chief Designer like yourself, right?"

Liana's smile stiffened for a fraction of a second before quickly returning to normal. "Of course. Rest assured, Mr. Vaughn. Since I took on this project, I will deliver a design worthy of the Vaughn Corporation."

"Glad to hear it."

Vincent's lips curved into a smirk, a predatory gleam flashing in his striking eyes.

Liana stared for a moment, captivated. It felt almost unfair that a man possessed such a mesmerizing gaze.

Vincent adjusted his sunglasses and strode toward the parking garage, followed by a massive entourage of men in black suits.

Liana watched him leave, the smile vanishing from her face completely.

Three years ago, she had skyrocketed to global fame and swept every major award with "A Walk in the Clouds."

Meanwhile, Vincent and his security detail reached the underground parking garage.

His ride sat in a reserved spot—a pitch-black Rolls-Royce Phantom bearing the unapologetically flashy license plate IL-88888.

The bodyguards fanned out with practiced efficiency. One opened the rear door, another guarded the elevator, and two more jogged toward the exits for a routine sweep.

Just as Vincent ducked his head to get in, he caught sight of a familiar figure standing near a production van sporting a network logo.

Nora Reed was standing by the vehicle, watching Olive O'Neil curse up a storm as she inspected the engine.

They had borrowed the van from the production crew for the day.

It drove perfectly fine on the way there, but now, when they were ready to leave, it refused to start.

"Damn it, what a piece of junk. Of all the times to break down, it had to be right now!"
