Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 45

"???"

Nora blinked in complete confusion.

Grant's words made absolutely zero sense to her, and she instinctively looked at Hudson for an explanation.

Hudson had draped his arm casually across the back of the sofa behind her. Looking utterly relaxed, he simply shot Grant a frosty sidelong glance.

"You can get the hell out now."

Grant, being exceptionally sharp, instantly realized he had stepped on a landmine.

He leaned back, adopting a lazy posture, and laughed. "Come on, Hudson. I haven't even had breakfast yet..."

But before he could finish his sentence, Hudson slowly retracted his arm from the sofa. "Arthur."

"Yes, Boss."

"See our guest out."

Grant: ...

"You're no fun, man! I just got here. I haven't even had a sip of tea..."

Hudson leveled a deadpan stare at him—a look so chilling that Grant instantly swallowed the rest of his complaints.

Knowing when to quit, Grant stood up. Before leaving, he made sure to wave at Nora, flashing a highly suggestive grin. "See you around, Nora."

Nora: ...

Nora?

Since when were they on a first-name basis?

The heavy doors clicked shut behind him.

Out in the hallway, Grant pulled out a cigarette and clamped it between his lips, leaving it unlit.

After a couple of seconds of silence, he burst into a low chuckle.

He yanked out his phone and fired off a text to Sebastian Caldwell:

[Damn, Hudson has a woman.]

Sebastian replied instantly: [???]

Too lazy to type, Grant recorded a voice memo: "And here I was worrying he was actually going to settle down with that good-luck bride. Turns out, our guy isn't shortchanging himself at all. He's got an absolute goddess stashed in his house... Man, this girl is next-level stunning!"

[???]

After dropping another round of question marks, Sebastian sent a voice memo of his own. "Isn't the woman with Hudson supposed to be Jade?"

"You don't know shit!"

Grant didn't bother elaborating. He shoved his phone into his pocket and swaggered off.

...

Back in the dining room of Cloudwater Estate, a lavish breakfast spread covered the table.

"Are you in San Francisco yet? Come to Cloudwater Estate."

...

Meanwhile, in a car bound for Star Entertainment, Edmond Sterling's expression was incredibly dark.

Over the past few days, Ferris Quinn had tapped every connection they had, yet they still couldn't figure out who had secretly acquired Star Entertainment.

The mystery only fueled Edmond's bitter frustration.

No matter what, he had to make one final attempt.

He was absolutely determined to get his hands on Star Entertainment.

"Look over there, Edmond!" Sitting beside him, Juliette pressed herself against the window, pointing excitedly. "That's the Financial District, right? It's gorgeous!"

Edmond frowned and stayed silent.

He had come to San Francisco for two reasons: to bring Nora back, and to finalize the acquisition of Star Entertainment.

But Juliette had thrown a tantrum about coming along and had flown out on her own yesterday. His parents had demanded he look after her. Unable to shake her, he was forced to let her tag along.

The car slowly pulled up in front of Star Tower.

Edmond pushed his door open, but just as he stepped out, Juliette hopped out right behind him.

"Stay in the car with Ferris," Edmond warned, turning to face her. "Once I'm done here, I'll take you shopping at the boutiques."
