Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 439

"Well? Did Artie give you the address?" Olive O'Neil sat on her suitcase, her legs casually crossed as she beamed at Nora Reed.

Nora was still a little dazed. But after a moment's thought, she figured it out and smiled knowingly. Hudson must have been right beside him, making it impossible for Arthur to speak freely.

Sure enough, her phone buzzed a moment later. It was a text from Arthur with the hotel address.

Perfect! Accomplice secured.

Nora smiled and showed the screen to Archer and Olive. "Let's go."

They hailed a cab, gave the driver the address, and sped away from the airport.

The night breeze blowing through the half-open window carried the crisp, dry chill of early autumn in Northampton, a stark contrast to the humid coastal air of San Francisco. Nora leaned against the window, watching the city streets blur past. Her heart fluttered like a bird finally returning to its nest.

The neon signs in Northampton seemed denser than those in San Francisco, a dazzling blur of vibrant colors. She had never realized the city's night view was this beautiful. It had only been a few months, yet things felt so remarkably different.

"We're here," Archer's voice came from the passenger seat.

Nora snapped back to reality. The cab pulled up smoothly outside a five-star hotel. Two doormen in crisp black uniforms stood at attention, immediately stepping forward to open the doors.

"Good evening."

Nora stepped out as Archer tipped a bellhop to handle their luggage before heading to the front desk to book three rooms.

"All set. We're on the sixth floor," Archer said, handing over the key cards. "The Boss's room is right next to yours."

It was larger than she had expected, decorated in a modern, elegant style. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning, sprawling view of Northampton's glittering skyline.

She unpacked her suitcase and went straight to the bathroom for a shower. The hot water quickly filled the room with steam. Lathering up with body wash, she scrubbed herself from head to toe until her skin glowed and smelled divine.

After drying off, she stood in front of the large mirror, looking at her rosy, luminous complexion, and couldn't help but smile. She pulled a newly purchased silk slip dress from her bag. It was a creamy ivory white with thin straps, the hem resting just mid-thigh.

She had initially thought it was a bit too revealing, but considering she wasn't leaving the room, it was perfect.

She was wearing it for Hudson. What was there to be afraid of?

Nora checked her reflection from every angle, satisfied that she looked like the perfect 'surprise', before slipping into bed. She laid on her stomach, hugging the soft duvet to her chest, leaving only her sparkling eyes visible as she stared at the time on her phone, waiting for Hudson to return.
