"Huh?" Chloe's sleepiness vanished instantly. "Right now?"
Nora nodded hastily. "Do I need to report to management?"
Chloe nodded in confusion. "Ah... yeah, for a leave of less than two days, you don't need advance notice. Just submit it in our system."
Without delaying, Nora pulled up the system and requested two days off.
Chloe was speechless.
She was too decisive!
"Just call me if anything comes up..." Nora said as she stuffed her phone, portable charger, and earphones into her bag.
Chloe finally snapped out of it and nodded quickly.
When Nora walked out of the office with her bag, a few colleagues in the hallway avoided her gaze.
Nora walked past them with a straight face and pressed the button for the top floor in the elevator.
The elevator doors closed, isolating those subtle stares.
She leaned against the wall and let out a long breath.
She didn't care about the gossip, but that didn't mean she liked being pointed at.
Going out to clear her head was a good idea.
It was the perfect time to go see Hudson.
Thinking of the expression he would have when he saw her, Nora's lips curled into a smile.
The top-floor lounge at Star Entertainment had been temporarily occupied by Olive for the past few days. After dropping Nora off at the company, she would just hang out there.
When Nora pushed the door open, Olive was curled up on the sofa with her legs crossed, playing a video game.
Holding the phone horizontally, her thumbs tapped furiously on the screen. With a lollipop in her mouth, she cursed vaguely into the microphone.
"Are you blind? Can't you see a whole person squatting in the bushes? If you don't need your eyes, donate them to someone who does!"
"Damn it! Dead again!"
"Where are my teammates? Help me out!"
Olive immediately took out her phone and made a call.
It connected after two rings, and Archer's clear voice came through. "Olive?"
"The Madam is heading to Northampton to find the Boss. Get ready, we leave in ten minutes."
"Northampton? Should I inform the Boss?"
Just as Olive was about to speak, Nora quickly intervened. "Archer, don't tell him yet. I want to give him a surprise."
Archer let out an understanding chuckle. "Understood, Madam. I'll arrange it right away."
Nora paused. "Arrange what?"
"A private flight," Archer said smoothly. "If we take a commercial flight to Northampton, we have to book tickets in advance, check in, and go through security. It would take at least four or five hours. A private flight is much faster, just over two hours, and the schedule is flexible."
"Isn't that too much trouble?"
Archer smiled brightly. "Not at all. I bought this plane last month and haven't used it yet. It's a perfect time to test it out."
