He only tolerated her behavior out of respect for the Matriarch. Otherwise, with the way she threw these childish tantrums, he wouldn't care if she lived or died.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Pulling himself from his thoughts, Finnian turned to open it and found Jude standing in the hallway.
"Are we done here? My mentor is rushing us..."
Halfway through his sentence, his gaze landed on Nora, and he froze for a split second. "Ms. Reed?"
Nora nodded politely. "Mr. Winslow."
A faint smile touched Jude's lips. His eyes lingered on her face for a second longer before he turned to Finnian. "Well? Ready to go?"
But before Finnian could speak, Liana rushed over, intimately wrapping her arms around Jude's. "Jude, what are you doing here? Did you come to see me?"
Jude smoothly and discreetly extracted his arm from her grasp. "I'm here for your brother."
Seeing that Liana was fine, Finnian finally turned to Jude.
"Let's go."
As he reached the door, he seemed to remember something. He turned back to look at Sienna, who was resting on the sofa. "Call me if you need anything."
"Got it, honey," Sienna smiled sweetly at him.
Finnian stiffened at the sudden, affectionate title. Though his expression didn't change, the tips of his ears turned a visible shade of red.
Beside them, Liana's face twisted with pure rage.
Shameless!
Homewrecker!
They weren't even married yet!
How dare she call him her husband?!
No wonder they were friends—birds of a feather.
However, she didn't dare cross Nora. This was San Francisco, not Northampton. This was the territory of Nora's husband, the powerful Mr. Lancaster.
But Sienna was a completely different story.
"Sienna, have you no shame? You and my brother aren't even married, and you're calling him 'honey'?" Liana scowled, her eyes filled with undisguised contempt.
Sienna leaned back against the sofa. Her face was still pale, but her tone was unapologetically lazy. "I'll call him whatever I want. What does it have to do with you? You're his sister, not his wife."
Liana's face stiffened.
"Besides..." Sienna tilted her head, a smirk tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You want to control everything, but do you really think you can dictate who your brother sleeps with?"
"You..." Liana's face flushed a furious crimson. "You're shameless!"
Sienna let out a light laugh, bright and entirely brazen. "And you're incredibly thick-skinned."
Liana trembled with rage, her chest heaving violently. "Do you really think my brother loves you? He's just using you for your blood type! The moment you outlive your usefulness, he won't even look at you twice!"
