It was just a misunderstanding.
Tiffany's disappointment was visible to the naked eye.
Beatrice's expression, however, remained impassive, revealing neither joy nor anger.
"Oh, it's fine..." Ginger offered a sweet, lilting laugh. "Hudson and Nora are still so young. Besides, they've been married for less than half a year. It's only a matter of time."
She leaned in slightly, lowering her voice as if sharing an intimate secret.
"The ovulation window is the most crucial time. If you track your days and make sure you and Hudson sleep together often during that week, you'll get pregnant in no time."
Nora hadn't expected Ginger to be so incredibly blunt. For a moment, she was at a loss for words.
Seeing her silence, Ginger's smile turned even gentler. Her gaze swept over Nora's face, a calculated glint in her eyes as if she had suddenly remembered something.
"By the way, is Hudson using protection? Looking at you, you seem like you'd get pregnant easily. Logically, it should have happened by now..."
The words were delivered lightly, laced with feigned concern, but the amusement in her eyes betrayed a twisted sense of superiority.
Hudson, leaning back in his chair and idly swirling his coffee cup, lifted his gaze to Ginger.
"Our sex life is none of your concern. You'd better focus on yourself. After this pregnancy, there probably won't be another. You need to protect that precious baby in your stomach with your life, lest your vicious mouth brings about some nasty karma."
Ginger's face drained of color instantly. The mask of a gentle, well-bred woman shattered, leaving her gritting her teeth and glaring at Hudson.
Beside her, Silas looked equally furious, shooting Hudson a venomous glare.
"Well, at least I have an heir now. What about you, Hudson? Don't you want to leave a legacy? Or... are you unable to?"
Hudson casually crossed his long legs, a scoff escaping his lips.
After what felt like an eternity, Silas set down his fork, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and stared darkly at Hudson.
"Did you order the hit on Lawrence?"
Hudson was in the middle of serving Nora a slice of roast beef. He didn't even bat an eye.
"You really are a devoted nephew to Lawrence, aren't you?"
He finally looked up, a mocking smirk playing on his lips. "Why don't you just let him adopt you?"
Silas's face turned livid, his fingers gripping the edge of the table.
"You..."
"Oh, I almost forgot," Hudson interrupted, the smirk widening. "Since you're basically shooting blanks these days, even if you became Lawrence's son, you still wouldn't be able to give him a grandchild. He might not even want a useless son like you."
