Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 91

Zander was nothing like Julian; he had been a blazing fire, using his passionate companionship to fill the void left by her toxic family.

She had thought it was her salvation, only to realize too late that it was an endless abyss of mistakes.

Today, Julian remained that untouchable moon hanging high in the sky, shining even brighter than before.

And her?

She was trapped in the mud, covered in filth and ruin.

She never expected the moon to fall into the swamp for her.

"I know what you're trying to say, Gwen," Eliza said, pulling her thoughts back to the present as exhaustion clouded her eyes.

"But I really don't want to think about romance right now. I just don't have the energy."

This marriage had stripped her to the bone, and all she wanted now was to take back the justice she deserved.

Seeing Eliza looking so devastatingly quiet and lifeless, a heavy lump formed in Gwen's throat.

She dropped her playful demeanor and pulled Eliza into a tight hug.

"I know. I know it all," Gwen whispered, resting her chin on Eliza's shoulder, her voice softening.

"Eliza, you've been put through hell. All I'm saying is, even though you're at rock bottom right now, you can't let this destroy your faith in love."

Gwen rubbed her back soothingly. "Love itself isn't a mistake. It's a beautiful thing! It's just that Zander is a piece of trash who didn't deserve it!"

"So, when you finally climb out of this dark place, you have to believe there's a better view and a better man waiting for you!"

"You have to believe that someone out there is worthy of your light, and your love will always be radiant!"

Eliza's eyes stung with unshed tears.

Choked up with emotion, she wrapped her arms around Gwen, genuinely comforted by her friend's words.

"Thank you, Gwen. I know," Eliza said, blinking back the moisture in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Zander doesn't have the power to ruin love for me forever. I just... I need a break for now."
