Eliza stared at her, not a single ripple of emotion in her eyes.
She had assumed hearing about Zander and Yvonne sleeping together would break her heart, but oddly enough, it didn't.
She truly couldn't care less.
It felt like she was listening to a story about a total stranger.
Yvonne had braced herself for a hysterical, screaming fit, but she was met with pure, dead silence.
Clenching her fists, she scowled and demanded, "Why aren't you angry?"
Eliza suddenly let out a laugh.
"Are you done?" Eliza looked Yvonne up and down like she was staring at a circus clown.
"Why would I be angry? Did you really go to all this trouble to pick up the trash I threw away just to make me mad?"
"Honestly, it's making me wonder if you have a crush on me."
Eliza's nonchalance utterly shattered Yvonne's defenses.
"What did you just say?"
"Am I wrong?" Eliza took a step back, crossing her arms as she scrutinized her.
"Yvonne, you schemed and plotted just to snatch up a piece of garbage I didn't want anymore. Now that you finally have it, you run all the way over here to brag about it. If that isn't a secret crush on me, what is it?"
Ignoring Yvonne's rapidly darkening expression, Eliza raised an eyebrow, her gaze dripping with mockery.
"Trash belongs with trash, honestly. You two are made for each other. I hope you're both very happy together."
"I just pray you two stay locked together forever so you don't end up ruining anyone else's life."
"Eliza! You bitch!"
The sheer humiliation of those words completely vaporized Yvonne's sanity.
She came here expecting to parade around as the triumphant winner, but in Eliza's eyes, she was nothing more than a pathetic joke.
Her smug facade ripped apart. She raised her hand, aiming a vicious slap right at Eliza's face.
"Excuse me, am I interrupting something?"
A deep, unhurried voice drifted over from right behind Yvonne.
Yvonne's raised hand froze in midair. She instinctively whipped her head around.
Standing at the entrance of the lounge, Julian was strolling toward them at a leisurely pace.
He was smiling as he spoke, but his tone carried a terrifying, crushing authority.
