When it was time to clock out, Eliza returned to her desk to finish up some remaining tasks.

The office suddenly buzzed with excitement.

"I had no idea, Yvonne! You look so young. You're already married?"

"You and your fiancé are so perfect together! Totally gorgeous couple."

Eliza couldn't stop her gaze from drifting over.

It was a wedding photo.

Her heart gave a painful lurch when she saw the other person in the photo was Zander.

"It's nothing crazy," Yvonne smiled bashfully. "We took these yesterday. It took forever to pick out the dress."

She suddenly paused, as if remembering something. "Oh right, Eliza, don't you have a boyfriend, too? Are you guys planning on tying the knot soon? When do we get to meet him?"

Eliza raised an eyebrow, guessing that Yvonne had also seen the group chat history yesterday.

Of course she had. Yvonne created the chat; there was no way she'd missed it.

She gave a thin smile. "I'll bring him around when we have time."

"Really? I'd love to meet him."

A familiar voice came from behind, striking like a dagger straight through her chest.

Eliza froze in place, a chilling numbness spreading through her veins, rooting her to the spot.

She turned around and met a cold, sharply handsome face.

Zander's brow was locked in a tight frown, his jaw clenched, his expression furious.

"Zander! What are you doing here?" Yvonne gasped, running over and instinctively looping her arm through his.

"Is this your fiancé, Yvonne? He's even better looking in person!"
