He had driven over to pick Eliza up, but the moment he stepped out of his car, he was greeted by a scene that nearly stopped his heart.
He stood frozen in place, unable to move an inch.
Perhaps feeling the scorching glare, she instinctively turned to look.
She immediately took a step back, maintaining a safe distance from Julian.
Watching her retreat, Julian almost laughed out of exasperation.
He had naturally seen Zander approaching long before.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have deliberately tucked her hair behind her ear.
Zander suddenly tossed his umbrella aside and charged up the steps into the pouring rain.
Completely ignoring Julian standing right there, he grabbed Eliza's wrist in a fit of lost control.
"Zander! What are you doing here! What do you want now!" Eliza gasped in pain, her brows furrowed as she tried forcefully to shake him off.
But Zander clamped down on her with a death grip, his eyes filled with madness and bitter reluctance.
He roared hysterically.
"Eliza! Are you so determined to divorce me because of him? Is that it!"
"Zander! Are you out of your mind!"
"Let go!" Eliza struggled to pull her hand back.
"Don't touch me!"
Instead of letting go, Zander yanked her even harder toward him.
"Eliza, I finally understand why you're so hell-bent on a divorce. You already had your next target lined up, didn't you? Huh? You're coming home with me right now to explain everything."
He dragged Eliza unreasonably, trying to pull her out into the rain.
But before he could take a single step, a hand swiftly locked onto his wrist.
Julian's gaze had turned ruthlessly cold. "Didn't you hear her tell you to let go?"
"Who the hell do you think you are to interfere with my family affairs!" Zander seethed, stung by the utter contempt in Julian's eyes.
