A cooling-off period?
Thirty days?
She would absolutely not give Eliza that chance.
Never.
The following day, Yvonne tracked Eliza down at a local coffee shop where she was having afternoon tea with Gwen.
"Wait, so you and that scumbag Zander still aren't officially divorced?" Gwen asked, her eyes going wide as she took a sip of her latte.
Eliza gave a helpless nod. "Yeah. But it's just thirty days. After a month, I am definitely getting divorced."
Gwen was furious. "This is absolute bullshit!"
Right on cue, Yvonne stormed over to their booth, completely disregarding public etiquette.
"Eliza!" Yvonne slammed her designer purse onto their table.
Both women jumped. Gwen was about to unleash a tirade, but Eliza silenced her with a single glance.
Even Eliza was surprised that Yvonne had the guts to confront her directly.
Usually, she just ran to Zander to turn on the waterworks.
She gave a cool, dismissive hum.
"Can I help you?"
Her detached attitude only infuriated Yvonne further.
"Are you happy now?"
"Seeing Zander in so much pain over you... does that make you feel proud? It's just thirty days!"
Yvonne spat through gritted teeth. "Let me make one thing clear. Don't even think about using your cheap tricks to seduce him back during this month."
Eliza looked up at the woman standing before her—impeccably manicured yet utterly deranged—like she was watching a circus clown perform.
"What's the matter? Did your little homewrecking campaign fail?"
That single sentence drained all the color from Yvonne's face.
