Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 176

Zoe looked a bit stunned, then turned her gaze to Eliza, her tone laced with obvious expectation.

"And you, Ms. Shaw? You have a background in choreography. From the perspective of action capability—"

"Jane is right." Eliza pulled her gaze away from the resume, her voice so calm it didn't carry a single ripple. "They're all fine. These casting decisions are your business, it wouldn't be appropriate for us to overstep."

Zoe's smile froze for half a second.

But she was a seasoned industry veteran, and she quickly smoothed things over. "Well, alright then! I'll take note of your feedback and report back to the director." She stood up. "Thank you both so much for today, I'm sorry to have taken up your time—"

"No problem at all. We'll be on the same lot from now on, just let us know if you need anything." Jane nodded politely.

Zoe packed the folder into her bag and hurried off.

The sound of her heels clicking against the wooden stairs faded away.

Jane set her coffee cup down and looked at Eliza.

"You were going to bring up Yvonne's pregnancy just now, weren't you?"

Eliza didn't deny it.

"I thought about it."

Jane leaned back in her chair, her tone turning serious.

"I stopped you for a reason." She lowered her voice. "If you brought up her pregnancy in this setting, Zoe would absolutely report it back. When they trace the leak back to you—anyone with half a brain in this circle could dig up the bad blood between you and Yvonne."

"When that happens, how do you think people will look at you? 'Oh, Eliza has a personal vendetta against Yvonne, so she abused her position to suppress a rival during casting.'"

Eliza's fingers paused on her lap.

"Jane, that wasn't my intention."
