Jane York glanced toward Studio B, following her gaze, and said casually.

"Yeah, they're different from us. *Fragrant Moon* isn't using motion capture, they're using live stunt doubles—the female lead has a ton of fight scenes and dance sequences, so their requirements for the double are exceptionally high."

She looked away.

"I heard they've already held several rounds of open casting, but they still haven't locked anyone down. Their director is notoriously hard to please, constantly complaining that the doubles don't match the lead's image."

"They're still casting?" Eliza asked.

"Still casting," Jane nodded. "The final round of initial screening is supposedly happening over the next couple of days. I hear they have a lot of applicants."

She patted Eliza's shoulder, a hint of teasing in her tone.

"But *Echoes of the Valley* is definitely going to be busier. You officially join the production on Wednesday. Go home and get some good rest today, recharge your batteries."

Eliza nodded without asking further.

But as she turned back, she cast another glance at the half-open rolling door of Studio B.

Inside, a line of girls was taking turns demonstrating a jumping and flipping sequence.

People from all over the country were crowding in here.

For some reason, someone suddenly sprang to Eliza's mind.

After a long silence, she withdrew her gaze and followed Jane out the studio doors.

At eight o'clock that evening, Eliza returned to her apartment.

Just as she changed into her slippers, the doorbell rang.

Through the peephole was the face of a young man—wearing thin-rimmed glasses, a dark gray shirt, and a silver employee badge from The Lawrence Group pinned to his chest.

Trent Carter.

"Ms. Shaw, Mr. Lawrence asked me to deliver a document."

Eliza opened the door.

Trent handed over a kraft paper envelope with both hands, sealed with a red wax stamp.

"This is a classified file. I've kept a copy, but this is the original. Mr. Lawrence said to keep it safe after you review it." He paused and added, "Also, Mr. Lawrence asked me to relay two things to you."

"First, Yvonne's complete records from her time at the City B Dance Academy have been retrieved. They're all in here."

"Second—" Trent pushed his glasses up his nose.

"Yvonne submitted her resume for the stunt double role to the *Fragrant Moon* production three days ago. Their filming base is in Studio B, just across the hall from Studio A where *Echoes of the Valley* is shooting. They start principal photography around the same time."
